Whether you are newly graduating from nursing school or bringing years of experience from another specialty into a new role at Cleveland Clinic, you will benefit from our residency program. Throughout your residency, you will work closely with our Success Coach team — dedicated nursing professional development specialists who are committed to supporting your transition and continued growth. They will be available to you in person, virtually, and via email to answer questions, provide guidance, and help you grow and succeed as a caregiver.

Cleveland Clinic’s G80 Internal Medicine Unit cares for internal medicine and telemetry patients, behavioral health patients, patients with nutritional insufficiencies, and patients with other medical conditions, such as congestive heart failure, diabetes,sepsisand GI bleeds. Caregivers in this unit are exposed to more than just one specialization, which fosters strongassessmentsskills, a wealth of clinical knowledge and continuous learning.

A caregiver in this position worksnights| 7:00pm—7:30am.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.

• Provide direct nursing care alongside asuccessfulcoach.

• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patientpreferenceand resource availability).

• Respond to dataindicatingrisk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or preventrisks

• Seek supervision,consultationandassistancewhen unable to perform safely and independently.

• Documentinpatients’ medical records.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing(Diploma,ADNor BSN program)

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross

• New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor ofScienceinNursing(BSN)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
