
Position: New Day Anti-Human Trafficking Victim Advocate

Availability of Position: Immediate
Schedule Full-Time (40 hours a week), Monday – Friday, 9am -5pm
Reporting Relationship: Mobile Case Management Program Manager
Salary/Grade: $45,500 annual; 10 Exempt

The Victim Advocate (VA) will work with the Mobile Case Management Program Manager and the Assistant Director as an integral part of the Philadelphia Anti Human Trafficking Task Force and lead Victim Advocate for Working to Restore Adolescent Power (WRAP) Court. The VA will work as a liaison for victims of human trafficking as well as provide victim focused, trauma informed, screening and coordination between the task force members, Victim Service providers, and DHS. In addition, the VA will provide trauma informed clinical case management for victims of human trafficking and will work with the area service provider partners to ensure follow up and coordination of all immediate aftercare services. The VA will be responsible to participate in awareness and training events when applicable as well as develop rapport with local law enforcement and DHS partners..
Duties:
Requirements: BSW or related degree required. MSW preferred. Two years of experience working in human trafficking victim services or a related field (ex. Domestic violence, sexual assault, immigrant rights, workers’ rights) in a role that involves direct service provision. Experience with trauma informed care, preferably a working knowledge of Sanctuary Model for Trauma Informed services. Must have an understanding of the issue of domestic human trafficking. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel from site to site as may be needed in the performance of duties. Must be willing to travel long distances to meet with clients and community partners. Professional-level communications skills. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check. Must possess an appreciation for and support of the mission of The Salvation Army.
