As a Silicon Planner at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for orchestrating the supply chain to common objectives for the Silicon technologies (DRAM, NAND, Sourced Silicon) assigned to you. Much of your time will be spent proactively handling silicon constrained supply fill rate (to demand and inventory) on your products through various analytics of our ERP tool and planning systems. Based on your findings or unplanned events, you will work with internal and external partners globally. You will lead the entire supply process to reach the required objectives for your product line.

You must have proficient skills related to data analysis and developing conclusions to a variety of problems. This will make you successful on the planning responsibilities. You must also have strong interpersonal skills and leadership abilities as these are key in resolving many of the problems you find to meet the defined objectives. You will use and develop Tableau reports, and investigation into our Supply Plan Optimization (SPO) tool to tackle supply/demand mismatches. Additionally, you will deploy Science of Supply Chain techniques to ensure the right balance of inventory, customer service, and business priorities is met considering the conditions of the semiconductor business. In this role, you will develop an understanding of the value chain you plan for and other related processes. Examples of these areas are demand management, S&OP, Supply planning, inventory management, Fab, Procurement, manufacturing sites, logistics, fulfillment, and customer requirements. The knowledge you develop here will assist you in solving many problems and will enable your career progression.

Responsibilities:

  • Publish Silicon constrained supply response for customer demand, factory plan, material plan, die mix plan, and inventory replenishment strategy
  • Leverage distributed team to have continuous attention to urgent action items
  • Position Silicon Supply/Inventory to predictably meet revenue plans: Communicate risks and opportunities of supply to revenue planning teams. Understand demand/revenue opportunities with no or late supply & drive mitigation actions (Fab Pull-in, Fab Die mix, Procure wafers etc.). Understand demand at risk and alternative scenarios (Re-probe, PO cancellations/pushouts etc.). Provide qualitative inputs to demand management to optimize supply/demand balancing within constraints
  • Project silicon supply accurately for reliable commitments to customer orders: Maintain silicon metrics to demand for the full horizon. Provide inputs to replenishment strategies to achieve required delivery performance
  • Run inventory to targets at specific locations, and handle wafer/die bank inventory health

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Operations Research, or Business Administration
  • Supply Chain fundamentals – Safety stock models, forecasting models, Optimizing logistics network, and Linear programming
  • Experience with Database query (SQL), interpreting data and visualization tools, including Macros in Excel, Tableau, and Python programming.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Statistical concepts/ methods - Theory of constraints and Inventory Models
  • Crafting experiments to address problems
  • Experience with Supply Chain systems preferred – SAP/Blue Yonder
