As a Category Supplier Manager, you will develop a category strategy for managed categories. You will confirm these strategies with Global and Regional Category Managers and relevant internal collaborators. You will lead strategic sourcing initiatives, plan and carry out negotiations using supplier and industry analysis, benchmarking, and cost management. By managing the category strategy, you will build positive relationships with internal collaborators and deliver outstanding cost, supply, and resilience results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Category Management & Strategic Sourcing Develop category strategies for managed categories and confirm strategies with Global and Regional Category Managers and internal partners. Implement processes to monitor collaborator happiness with key suppliers. Recommend targets to improve value such as high revenue, spend reduction, purchasing efficiency, customer service, and supplier management. Examine sourcing trends and provide suggestions for assigned categories. Participate in supplier segmentation and strategic goal-setting. Leverage AI-enabled tools and data analytics to improve sourcing decisions, identify market insights, automate routine activities, and improve efficiency.

  • Cost Management & Analysis: Identify and evaluate category-specific savings/revenue levers. Drive category savings/revenue and scorecard metric targets. Provide market intelligence and category price trends to relevant internal collaborators. Apply should-cost models for assigned categories that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplace.

  • Negotiation: Lead or participate in negotiations for contract extensions and renewals, renegotiation of prices, transfers, etc. Lead sourcing events/RFQ process into bundled negotiation. Incorporate savings targets and contract requirements into negotiations. Develop a contract strategy for suppliers in assigned categories and build, negotiate, monitor, and enforce contracted terms and conditions. Carry out strategic sourcing efforts, negotiations, and cost control through supplier and industry analysis.

  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with Collaborators to Deliver Strategic Solutions. Develop and maintain expertise in the assigned spend categories through relationships with key collaborators. Drive a customer-centric approach to solving issues and representing Procurement. Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships to improve cost-effectiveness, supply chain efficiency, and resilience.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 0 to 2 years of experience in Procurement / Supply Chain.
  • A relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to learn in category management and strategic sourcing.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to effectively manage relationships with various individuals will be an advantage.
  • Proven experience working within a team
