We're looking for a New Club Operations Project Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership, and is excited to help bring new clubs to life.

This is a remote role based in Illinois, Indiana, or Michigan, with up to 50% travel required to support new club openings.

As VASA continues to grow, this role is hands-on and on-site during critical phases of each launch--partnering closely with teams to ensure every club opens on time, on budget, and ready to deliver an exceptional member experience.

HOW YOU WILL CHANGE LIVES

As the New Club Operations Project Manager, you are responsible for driving the execution of every new club opening--ensuring each location launches on time, on budget, and fully operational.

You'll own the full operational readiness timeline, coordinating across HR, Marketing, IT, Construction, and Facilities to ensure hiring, training, equipment, and systems are aligned for opening day. From managing budgets and vendor relationships to tracking progress against key milestones, you'll keep multiple complex projects moving forward simultaneously.

This role requires constant prioritization, problem-solving, and real-time decision-making. You'll identify risks early, remove roadblocks, and adjust plans as needed to ensure every opening stays on track--while maintaining the high standards our members and teams expect.

COMPENSATION DETAILS

  • $60,000--$70,000 base salary
  • 10% annual bonus potential

Qualifications

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and takes full ownership of their work. This role requires strong project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to keep multiple complex projects moving forward at the same time.

  • 5+ years of experience managing complex, multi-phase projects (new openings, construction, operations, or similar)
  • Proven ability to manage projects from planning through execution--owning timelines, budgets, and outcomes
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with the ability to align teams across HR, Marketing, IT, Construction, and Operations
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, and external partners to deliver on timelines and quality expectations
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience managing budgets, tracking expenses, and identifying efficiencies
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment
  • Comfortable making decisions and solving problems in real time to keep projects on track
  • Experience using project management tools (Asana, Trello, Microsoft Project, or similar)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence, build trust, and drive accountability across teams
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of ownership, urgency, and follow-through
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, Operations, or related field preferred
  • PMP, CAPM, or similar certification is a plus
  • Experience in fitness, hospitality, or retail environments is a plus

WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE?

  • New clubs open on time, on budget, and fully operational
  • Hiring, training, and staffing milestones are executed on schedule, ensuring teams are ready for opening day
  • Operational plans--including staffing, inventory, setup, and compliance--are executed seamlessly
  • Vendors and contractors deliver furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) on time and meet quality standards
  • Budgets across labor, travel, and equipment are managed effectively, with opportunities identified to improve efficiency
  • Cross-functional teams (HR, Marketing, IT, Construction, Facilities) stay aligned and accountable to timelines
  • Project timelines, KPIs, and milestones are consistently tracked, with adjustments made to keep projects on pace
  • Risks are identified early and mitigated before impacting opening timelines or quality
  • Clubs transition smoothly from opening to ongoing operations, with strong performance in the first 90 days
  • Strong relationships are built across teams and with external partners, creating a collaborative and high-performing opening process
