Job Description

New Business & Private Client Specialist
Department: Sequel Private Client
Reports to: Private Client Practice Leader
Salary Range: Compensation for this position is expected to fall within the range of $90,000 to $125,000 annually; however, final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, and business needs.

We are seeking a versatile, detail-oriented professional to serve in a hybrid New Business & Private Client Specialist role within our Private Client Insurance division. This position bridges the gap between new business execution and ongoing client relationship management, ensuring a seamless, high-touch experience through the full client lifecycle.
This individual will lead the end-to-end new business process while also maintaining responsibility for a defined book of high-net-worth clients. Success in this role requires both technical expertise and a service mindset — the ability to design sophisticated insurance programs and deliver proactive, relationship-driven account management and risk management consultation across multiple time zones.
Key Responsibilities
New Business & Placement
· Manage the full lifecycle of new business submissions, from intake through binding
· Market accounts to insurance carriers; negotiate pricing, terms, and coverage enhancements
· Analyze quotes and structure comprehensive, competitive insurance programs
· Build tailored, client-ready proposals that clearly articulate coverage strategy and value
· Partner with Relationship Managers and/or producers to position and present solutions
· Coordinate binding, issuance, and all required documentation in a timely and compliant manner
Account Management & Client Service
· Serve as the day-to-day contact for a select portfolio of private clients
· Oversee policy servicing including endorsements, coverage adjustments, and document requests
· Ensure accuracy and completeness of all client records and policy documentation
· Deliver a high-touch service experience aligned with private client expectations
· Renewal & Retention Strategy
· Lead the renewal process for assigned accounts, including remarketing when appropriate
· Proactively identify coverage gaps, emerging risks, and opportunities for program enhancement
· Develop and present renewal strategies that reinforce value and strengthen client retention
· Monitor retention metrics and contribute to overall client satisfaction and growth goals
Relationship & Carrier Management
· Build and maintain strong relationships with underwriting partners to drive optimal outcomes
· Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution
· Act as a trusted resource for both clients and colleagues on coverage strategy and market conditions
Process Improvement & Execution
· Manage multiple priorities across new business and renewal pipelines with precision
· Identify and implement opportunities to improve workflows, tools, and client deliverables
· Contribute to the development of best-in-class proposal materials and service standards

Qualifications & Experience
• 3–5+ years of experience operating in the private client segment, within a retail brokerage environment
• Demonstrated experience in both new business placement and account management
• Strong understanding of high-net-worth insurance products and carriers, to include proficiency in the utilization of Excess & Surplus lines and MGA solutions
• Proven ability to market accounts and negotiate effectively with carriers
• Experience managing renewals and driving client retention strategies
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and agency management systems (EPIC preferred)
• Active insurance license
Core Competencies
· Client Advisory: Ability to build trust and deliver thoughtful, proactive guidance
· Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of coverage design and underwriting dynamics
· Execution & Ownership: Takes full accountability for both new business and in-force accounts
· Relationship Management: Skilled at navigating both client and carrier relationships
· Attention to Detail: High standards for accuracy, presentation, and follow-through
What Sets This Role Apart
This hybrid role is designed for someone who wants broader ownership of the client experience — not just winning the business, but retaining and growing it. You’ll play a critical role in shaping both the initial impression and the long-term relationship, with meaningful visibility and impact across the organization.
