NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Drive growth within the Western and Southern Cape Food and Beverage Division by securing new business and managing key accounts.

Cape Town, Food and Beverage Industry, R60 000 - R75 000.

About Our Client

The company operates within the Food and Beverage (F&B) industry, specifically providing chemical hygiene solutions and applications. The business focuses on technical and logistical operations, including commercial branch management and the provision of Free on Loan equipment to clients.

The Role: NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

The New Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth within the Western and Southern Cape Food and Beverage Division. This role exists to secure new business, manage key accounts, and ensure commercial sustainability through financial, operational, and people leadership. The main focus areas include leading regional sales strategy, maintaining client service standards, and ensuring operational excellence and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee regional performance with a minimum of 7 years of industry experience and 5 years in senior sales or regional management.
  • Execute business development plans to grow the market footprint and secure new B2B business.
  • Manage key accounts and build strategic client relationships to ensure retention and satisfaction.
  • Oversee budgets, financial performance, and regional profitability for the Food and Beverage Division.
  • Prepare and present client proposals, RFQ submissions, and project costings.
  • Lead and manage sales team performance, providing guidance, support, and recruitment oversight.
  • Act as a technical specialist providing product and application recommendations for chemical hygiene solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with labour, health and safety, and client-specific regulatory requirements.

About You

  • Minimum 7 years of industry experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a senior sales or regional management role.
  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrated track record in B2B new business development and Key Account Management.
  • Knowledge of the Food and Beverage manufacturing industry and chemical hygiene solutions.
  • Experience managing budgets, profitability, and commercial branch operations.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable own vehicle.
  • Proficient in MS Office with the ability to perform root cause analysis and report writing.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Sales, Chemical, or Food Science is advantageous.
  • Advanced Excel skills are beneficial.
