Job Description

The Role


The New Business Development Consultant is responsible for identifying prospective opportunities, developing customer relationships, implementing WTW South Africa’s marketing and sales plan and fostering the growth of the sales and marketing team.
To drive new business through marketing campaigns, strategic networking events, and client roundtables. Manage prospect tracking, growth and strategy with CRB Leader, Operational Leaders, Production Team and Client Service Teams. Collaborate with Operational Leaders in the management of pipeline forecasting for the market.


• Establish sufficient prospective opportunities to meet strategic business plans.
• Detailed knowledge of all prospective and new customer relationships to facilitate and maintain business growth and profitability.
• Develop annual sales plan for input into the annual business plan.
• Provide continuous CRM training and support according to office needs and best practices in the South African insurance market
• Maintain an accurate pipeline forecast incorporating revenue recognition protocols from finance.
• Create and maintain robust prospect lists based on geography, industry, etc.
• Provide industry trend reports as appropriate.
• Evaluate and adjust marketing strategies to respond to client changes, state of the market and competitive conditions.
• Coordinate a bi-annual review of sales business plans with CRB Leadership and create sales reporting for sales individuals to support this.
• Coordinate monthly sales growth meetings with financials, important dates and sales topics relevant to the team.
• May perform other administrative tasks as needed.

The Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification is required
• 7+ years business development and direct sales experience in insurance or a related field.
• Moderate to advanced knowledge and training in Microsoft products
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and group presentation skill
• Excellent project management skills
• Good knowledge of the South African insurance industry
• Strategic analysis skills
• Strong relationship management skills; able to leverage internal and external relationships to bring WTW resources to support client and colleague needs
