The Department of Psychiatry and Psychology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an adult clinical neuropsychologist with a strong commitment to clinical service, research, and education in alignment with Mayo Clinic’s 3-shield approach to patient care excellence. The position is primarily one of clinical service for an individual with expertise in adult outpatient neurodiagnostic evaluation. The ideal candidate would have expertise in a broad base of clinical populations, with particular interest in autoimmune neurological disorders and complex medical conditions. They will have opportunities to contribute to the further development of specialty practices in various medical, neurosurgical, and/or neurodegenerative disorders.
A candidate should have a strong commitment to research with the ability to lead a research program in their area of interest. Research opportunities are available within currently existing programs in autoimmune neurological conditions, sociocultural determinants of health, health equity & community engagement, brain tumor, epilepsy, functional neurological disorder, transplant, and aging/dementia. Development of unique lines of inquiry is also possible. The position additionally requires a strong commitment to education. The candidate will teach and provide clinical supervision in our APPCN postdoctoral fellowship program and teach medical students, residents, and fellows throughout our medical center.
Candidates should hold a doctoral degree from a Psychology graduate program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) or Canadian Psychological Association (CPA), and will have completed an APA/CPA accredited internship. Two years of postdoctoral training consistent with Houston conference guidelines is also required. The successful candidate will be eligible for licensure in Florida and will either have or obtain specialty board certification in clinical neuropsychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) within 3 years of starting this position. All fees and expenses associated with attaining/maintaining license and board certification are covered by the department.
