The Neurosciences unit is a clinical diagnostic unit supporting the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery. The unit provides a comprehensive neurophysiology service including routine EEG, long- term inpatient video EEG monitoring (VEM), nerve conductions studies, somatosensory evoked potentials, visual evoked potentials and continuous ICU EEG monitoring. The Neurophysiology unit is actively involved with the Neurosurgery Department, providing comprehensive support in the stereo EEG program and intraoperative neuromonitoring service. These include intraoperative SEEG implant, monitoring, cortical stimulation and radio frequency thermocoagulation.
The Grade 1 Scientist will be an essential member of the Neurophysiology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for clinical testing of outpatients and inpatients at the Alfred. The position includes carrying administrative and clinical analytical duties as well as opportunity to be upskilled in the advanced EEG program and participate in clinical research. In addition, the scientist should perform all duties of the position to the best of their ability
Bachelor of Science or Applied Science
Clinical experience in a health and/or Neurophysiology field
Willingness to further gain experience in all aspects of Neurophysiology
Eligibility for registration with Association of Neurophysiology Scientist (ANSA)
