About the Role
You are responsible for coordinating and supporting the care of adults with complex neuromuscular conditions, including Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy, within a multidisciplinary specialist service.


You will provide expert clinical support, facilitate transition from paediatric to adult care, and contribute to the development of an innovative neuromuscular CNC model of care across Australian centres.

  • Coordinate care for adults with neuromuscular conditions, including Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy.
  • Support patients transitioning from paediatric to adult neuromuscular services.
  • Provide clinical advice, education and support to patients, families and multidisciplinary staff.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary clinics, care planning and service development activities.
  • Contribute to research, quality improvement and development of a neuromuscular CNC model of care.


Classifications for this position will range from ZA7 to ZA8 ($129,048 - $132,116 per annum, pro rata).


Your Contribution

  • Registered Nurse with current registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated experience in neuromuscular nursing and multidisciplinary clinical care.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a complex healthcare environment.
  • Highly developed communication, coordination and organisational skills.
  • Experience in clinical education, quality improvement and/or research activities is desirable.
  • Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About Clinical Neurosciences
The Department of Neurosciences at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne provides comprehensive specialist neurological services across inpatient, outpatient and research settings. The department is recognised for its expertise in the investigation and management of complex neurological and neuromuscular conditions and works closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based, patient-centred care. Neurosciences also has a strong focus on clinical research, innovation and the transition of young adults from paediatric to adult services.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
