South Asheville Veterinary Emergency & Specialty (SAVES) | Asheville, NC

Compensation: $24.00 - $34.00/hour based on experience

Additional Compensation for On-call pay and incentives

Schedule: Full-Time | 4 Days Per Week | On-Call Rotation Required

What You'll Do:

As a Neurology Veterinary Technician, you will play an integral role in supporting neurological patients throughout diagnosis, treatment, anesthesia, recovery, and ongoing care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with neurological examinations, diagnostics, and procedures

  • Providing exceptional nursing care to hospitalized neurology patients

  • Monitoring anesthesia and sedation for advanced procedures and imaging studies

  • Performing accurate drug calculations and medication administration

  • Monitoring patients before, during, and after procedures

  • Supporting MRI, CT, and other advanced diagnostic procedures

  • Maintaining detailed and accurate medical records

  • Communicating effectively with specialists, team members, and pet owners

  • Participating in an on-call rotation to support neurology patients and procedures

  • Delivering compassionate care while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced specialty environment

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), or Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)

  • Strong anesthesia knowledge and patient monitoring skills

  • Excellent patient handling and restraint techniques

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment

  • Commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and exceptional patient care

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of veterinary experience

  • At least one year of specialty or emergency veterinary experience

  • Experience with advanced anesthesia monitoring and critical patient care

  • Experience using ezyVet and SmartFlow

  • Previous neurology, specialty, or referral hospital experience
