Job TitleNeurologist
The neurologistprovides non-surgical specialty carefor disorders of the brain and peripheral nervesHe/she performs physical examinations, reviews medical histories, prescribes medications and ordersvarious ancillary tests to diagnose and treat patients.
Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Analyze patient medical histories
Consult with patients’ primary care physicians to coordinate care
Order and interpret EEG, laboratory, imagingand other diagnostic tests
Determine a diagnosis and plan of care for each patient
Partner with other members of the care team (e.g., nurse, medical assistant, social worker)
Complete all EHR documentation and administrative tasks in a timely manner
Minimum Qualification Requirements including education, experience, licensure/certification, etc. and essential physical capabilities (e.g., lifting, assisting lifting, standing, etc.)
MD or DO degree
Completion of an ACGME-approved residency in neurology
Board certified or board eligible in neurology
Valid DEA registration and New York medical license
BLS certification
Preferred Qualification Requirements (desired requirements beyond MQRs above)
2+ years of post-residencyexperience
Active Medicare and NYS Medicaid registration
Familiarity with the NextGen EHR
Experience with the I/DD patient population
Compensation:
$180.00-200.00/hr.
