Job Description

Legacy Medical Group Neurology is looking for a Neurohospitalist to join our team. A vascular neurologist or experienced Neurohospitalist is preferred; however, candidates from other subspecialties will be considered for exceptional qualifications.

The Legacy Medical Group Neurology Department has Neurohospitalists that provide Inpatient Neurology coverage at all six Legacy Hospitals in the Portland-Vancouver metro area. Additionally, the neurology outpatient team has four outpatient clinics locations with sub-specialty programs in autoimmune neurology/MS, epilepsy, headache, movement disorders, and neuromuscular disease.

Legacy Health System is a thriving, team-oriented local non-profit with five certified stroke centers in and around Portland, OR with the largest market share for neurology in the metropolitan area. One comprehensive stroke center and four primary stroke centers - all Get With The Guidelines award winners. Our hospitals also include an extensive neurosurgery program, a neurocritical care unit, a cardiothoracic surgery program, level I trauma center, and a residency program in internal medicine.

Responsibilities

  • This full-time Neurohospitalist position provides consult Inpatient Neurology for ED or admitted patients plus night call via telemedicine.
  • The Neurohospitalist would be based primarily at Emanuel Medical Center, located in Portland, OR, though some shifts would be at the other sites in the system.
  • Opportunities are available to participate in outpatient follow up stroke clinic, teaching to internal medicine residents, and clinical trials supported by the Legacy Research Institute.
  • Stroke Center Medical Directorship for the right candidate.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a four-year accredited U.S. Medical School or the equivalent.
  • Satisfactory completion of an accredited residency in Neurology.
  • Experience with or interest in telemedicine desirable

Licensure

  • Board Certified in Neurology.
  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the applicable state.
  • BLS certification (ACLS may substitute for BLS)
