The Neurophysiology Technologist III is responsible for providing accurate, high quality Neurodiagnostic testing. Responsibilities include performing all EEG and LTM activities, both invasive and non-invasive monitoring in the ICU/EMU setting or may be perform MNS with special training If working in EEG Lab. Responsibilities associated with the EMG laboratory may include performing NCV, EP, QST, rotation to Autonomic Studies, or MNS with special training. Additional responsibilities include Epilepsy related outpatient EEG activities. If in IONM, able to perform simple and/or complex IONM cases in OR and IR with minimal technical supervision. May be required to provide coverage at the Mayo Clinic Phoenix and Mayo Clinic Scottsdale campuses. May be required to participate in EEG and/or IOM call rotation. Engagement in collaborative research projects is strongly encouraged.
High school diploma or GED required. Completion of formal NDT education from an educational institution in coordination with a hospital and five (5) years of Neurodiagnostics experience, which includes previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NDT program; OR, Graduate from a CAAHEP accredited NDT program and five (5) years of Neurodiagnostics experience, which includes previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NDT program or formal NDT program; OR, Associate’s degree in a Neurosciences related field/subject from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of Neurodiagnostics experience, which includes previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NDT program or formal NDT program; OR, Bachelor’s degree in Neurosciences related field/subject from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of Neurodiagnostics experience. Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span. Proven ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs.
Obtaining additional credentials is strongly encouraged and preferred. Must be registered in one (1) of the following at time of hire: REEGT, RNCST, or CNIM*.
Must be registered in one of the following at time of hire: REEGT, RNCST, REPT. Must be registered in one or more of the following advanced credentials depending upon area of focus at time of hire or obtain registration within 24 months from date of hire: CLTM, CNIM, REPT, CAP.
*If supporting the IONM program, and the candidate has a Bachelor's degree the advanced credential CNIM (e.g., NIMT) is required, with additional multi-credentials preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date. Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
