
Band 6 Occupational Therapist – Neurology & Complex Care
Location: Kent
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 22.5 – 37.5 hours per week, Days
Our client is seeking a motivated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join a skilled therapy team providing care for patients with acquired neurological conditions and complex needs. This role involves assessment, planning, and delivery of personalised therapy to support independence and daily functioning.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities
Develop and implement individualised care plans and evidence-based interventions
Monitor, evaluate, and document patient progress, adapting therapy plans as required
Educate patients and families on strategies and adaptive techniques to support independence
Manage a caseload independently with supervision from the Lead OT
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including liaising with community services and equipment providers
Support and mentor less experienced colleagues to maintain a consistent therapeutic approach
Ensure clinical records meet HCPC and professional standards
Requirements:
BSc or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
HCPC registration with evidence of CPD
Minimum 2 years’ experience in neurology, specialist rehabilitation, or complex care
Knowledge of evidence-based practice and outcome measurement
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently and support a multidisciplinary team
