Job Description

Proposed Schedule: 40 hours per week. Shifts will vary Monday-Friday.

Note: This position has the possibility of hybrid work after the training period is complete.

The Network Services III engineer is responsible for the design, support and maintenance of all network systems and equipment for the Network and its staff for multiple locations. This role supports our IS Security team on project implementation, and daily maintenance around new and existing security initiatives.

  • Responsible for designing and supporting enterprise networking systems, system programming and special projects related to network hardware; including system configuration, troubleshooting, security, resource monitoring, reporting, documentation, and development of specialized programs
  • Ability to work with the security staff to remediate any assigned recognized security vulnerabilities
  • Take part in Infrastructure change control meetings
  • Core member of the CSIRT ( Cyber Security Incident Response Team)
  • Participate as the subject matter expert in Networking for all organizational compliance certifications e. HiTrust
  • Project lead on Network based Infrastructure projects.
  • Performs advanced level troubleshooting, for network hardware and software
  • Works with Infrastructure department leadership to identify hardware lifecycle and replacement devices for budgetary considerations
  • Works with Infrastructure leadership to select appropriate vendor support and documents all work to be done by outside vendors in network operations
  • Serves as a Mentor to Information Technologies employees
  • Work with Infrastructure leadership and other senior level engineers to design, test and remediate BC/DR plans for HHHN on a semi-annual basis
  • Participate in rotating 24/7 on call support system
  • Travel to HHHN site locations to provide onsite support when necessary
  • Log all requests in the enterprise ticketing system, responds to requests in a timely manner, and follow through on reported problems until satisfactorily resolved
  • Maintain company vehicle(s) and HHHN equipment in a professional and responsible manner and in accordance with Network policies
  • Works effectively with hardware and software vendors
  • Ensure the Data Centers and Networks are maintained and organized
  • Provides technical support and installs IT equipment
  • Support enterprise network surveillance equipment
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years related experience supporting an enterprise network or 8 years supporting an enterprise network and comparable certification(s) CompTIA Network+, CCST or CCNA recommended
  • In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of networking systems such as LAN, firewalls, routers and printers
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate networks; identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently
  • Ability to troubleshoot Wi-Fi and security infrastructure
  • Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
  • Understanding of OSPF/BGP routing protocols, IP advertising/filtering/distribution
  • Layer 1-2 i e. Trunking, VLANs, STP, Multicast, PPP, Frame/Relay, ATM, MPLS, Metro-E
  • General Network Management Tools ie: CISCO DNA, Cisco Works, Voyence, IP-SLA, NetFlow, SMNP, logging
  • Network Services i.e. DNS, DHCP, NTP
  • General Layer 3 i.e. OSPF, BGP, Cisco VRFs, QOS, ACLs, Route redistribution, MPLS-VPNs
  • Network Security i.e. ACLs, Route-maps, Firewall, routing protocol authentication
  • Experience with Voice over IP technologies
  • Knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Physical Media i.e. Multimode Fiber, Singlemode Fiber, UTP
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks
  • Experience and familiarity with enterprise change control processes
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to explain complex concepts and systems to non-technical staff
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work based on critical impact
  • Ability to be on call 24/7

The pay range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000 annually and will be determined based on skills and experience
