About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Technology Director to lead the Workforce Access Security product area. This leader will be accountable for the strategy, engineering, operations, security, and lifecycle management of the enterprise's workforce access platforms, including secure web proxy services, remote access infrastructure, network segmentation controls, and Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) capabilities. This role will drive modernization of workforce connectivity and security services while leading the evolution from traditional VPN-based access models to a next-generation Zero Trust architecture leveraging industry-leading technologies such as Palo Alto Networks, Zscaler, and Netskope.

This leader will oversee globally distributed engineering teams responsible for delivering secure, scalable, resilient, and compliant workforce access solutions that protect enterprise assets and enable secure connectivity for employees, contractors, and partners. The role requires strong technology leadership, strategic vision, operational excellence, and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders across technology, cybersecurity, risk, compliance, and business organizations.


In this role, you will:

  • Manage a team of engineering managers, product leaders, architects, and engineering leads.
  • Lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution of enterprise workforce access security services.
  • Define and drive the modernization of remote access capabilities, including migration from legacy VPN technologies to Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solutions.
  • Oversee design, delivery, and operations of global secure web proxy, internet access security, and remote access platforms.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Risk, and Enterprise Architecture teams to establish and implement Zero Trust strategies.
  • Develop actionable roadmaps aligned to enterprise strategic priorities and security objectives.
  • Lead network segmentation initiatives to strengthen security posture and reduce enterprise risk.
  • Drive adoption of modern security architectures, cloud-delivered security services, and secure access technologies.
  • Provide oversight for platform availability, resiliency, scalability, security, and operational excellence.
  • Establish risk management practices and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk and compliance initiatives.
  • Manage technology investments, financial planning, vendor relationships, and strategic resourcing.
  • Lead large-scale transformation programs and encourage innovation across engineering teams.
  • Collaborate and influence senior technology and business leaders across the organization.
  • Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies, auditors, and industry forums when required.
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Workforce Access Security.
  • Develop and guide a culture of accountability, talent development, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.


Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of senior technology leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience
  • 4+ years of management experience leading technology engineering, infrastructure, or cybersecurity organizations.
  • 5+ years’ experience leading large-scale enterprise networking, network security, or workforce access programs.
  • 5+ years’ experience with secure web proxy, remote access, VPN, Zero Trust, and network security technologies.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge of enterprise secure web proxy platforms, including Palo Alto Prisma Access, Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA), Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), Netskope Security Cloud, or similar solutions.
  • Experience leading enterprise transitions from traditional VPN architectures to modern Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solutions.
  • Experience developing and executing technology transformation strategies in complex enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience managing global engineering teams and delivering highly available, mission-critical platforms.
  • Expertise in GlobalProtect, Prisma Access, client-based remote access technologies, and cloud-delivered security services.
  • Strong background in network segmentation, micro-segmentation, software-defined security architectures, and Zero Trust principles.
  • Experience with Secure Service Edge (SSE) and Security Service Edge technologies.
  • Experience developing and operating large-scale global remote access and internet security infrastructures.
  • Experience managing complex vendor relationships and large technology transformation programs.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity, risk management, regulatory requirements, and operational resilience.
  • Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a complex, matrixed organization and execute through influence.
  • Proven track record of driving organizational change, engineering excellence, and technology modernization.
  • Highly effective executive communicator with strong business, operational, and technology acumen.

Job Expectations:

  • Willing to work a hybrid schedule from one of the posted locations.
