This role focuses on firewalls, VPN and ZTNA solutions, switches, routers, network segmentation, monitoring, and network security controls across corporate offices, data centers, cloud connectivity, R&D environments, and branches worldwide. The engineer will be expected to perform extensive hands-on work, including rule creation and validation, policy optimization, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, implementation of technical fixes, and continuous improvements that strengthen network security, stability, visibility, and control.

Key Responsibilities

·Network Security Infrastructure Operations

oOperate, maintain, and troubleshoot global network security infrastructure, including firewalls, VPN/ZTNA solutions, routers, switches, network security appliances, and supporting monitoring platforms.

oCreate, validate, optimize, and continuously improve firewall rulesets, security policies, access controls, NAT rules, VPN configurations, segmentation rules, and network security standards.

oImprove control, visibility, and monitoring of network security systems by enhancing logging, alerting, dashboards, health checks, rule reviews, and operational reporting.

oSupport secure connectivity for data centers, cloud environments, corporate offices, R&D environments, remote users, and global branches.

oInvestigate network and security problems, perform root-cause analysis, and implement practical technical solutions to improve security, stability, performance, and availability.

oMaintain accurate network security documentation, diagrams, procedures, runbooks, configuration standards, and implementation guides.

·Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Incident Support

oMonitor network security systems, firewall logs, VPN activity, network events, and related telemetry to identify risks, misconfigurations, failures, anomalies, and operational issues.

oInvestigate security and connectivity incidents, analyze traffic flows and logs, isolate root causes, and implement corrective actions.

oSupport incident response activities involving network security controls, suspicious traffic, unauthorized access attempts, VPN issues, segmentation gaps, and firewall policy violations.

·Network Security Design, Hardening & Continuous Improvement

oDefine and improve network security standards, firewall rule governance, access-control processes, segmentation models, VPN security, and zero trust network access controls.

oReview existing firewall and network security rulesets to remove unnecessary access, reduce risk, improve manageability, and ensure alignment with business and security requirements.

oPlan and implement network security improvements, configuration changes, upgrades, migrations, hardening activities, and stability enhancements.

oValidate implemented changes through traffic testing, log review, connectivity checks, rule verification, and post-change monitoring.

·Collaboration, Automation & Global Support

oWork closely with IT, Infrastructure, Security, Cloud, DevOps, and R&D teams to support business needs while maintaining strong network security controls.

oSupport R&D requirements with flexibility and practical problem-solving, balancing delivery needs with secure design, controlled access, and operational stability.

oDevelop scripts, queries, reports, and repeatable workflows to improve firewall rule reviews, monitoring, troubleshooting, reporting, and operational efficiency.

oProvide hands-on support for a global environment with multiple sites, branches, remote users, and cross-region infrastructure dependencies.

Qualifications
