As a Network Resilience Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the secure, reliable and resilient operation of the transmission network as the energy landscape evolves. Working at the forefront of the energy transition, you'll provide specialist expertise in power system security, operational resilience, system restoration and future network capability.

The role contributes to operational readiness through the development of security frameworks, restoration strategies, forecasting methodologies and operational capability initiatives.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity based in Melbourne CBD, with a hybrid work arrangement (office/WFH) and is part of the Transmission Operations Planning team.


What you’ll be doing in this role:

  • Drive the development of power system security and operational resilience frameworks
  • Assess emerging network risks and develop mitigation strategies to strengthen system reliability
  • Support secure network operation under changing conditions, including high levels of renewable and inverter-based generation
  • Develop contingency plans, remedial action schemes and system restart strategies
  • Evaluate restoration approaches and readiness for major system events
  • Analyse future operating scenarios to support the energy transition
  • Advance forecasting capabilities, operational planning and future readiness initiatives
  • Collaborate with industry stakeholders, regulators and working groups to influence operational outcomes and best practice

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of power system fundamentals
  • Awareness of power system operation, security, resilience and the impacts of the energy transition
  • Understanding of industry and regulatory frameworks within the energy sector
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
