Job Description

NexGen Data Systems is seeking a Network Migration Engineer to support user migrations, workstation refreshes and shore network deployments. The Network Migration Engineer prepares systems and user data for transition, performs configuration and software deployment work, and helps verify that services operate after cutover. This position also audits development, staging and modernization environments to identify configuration differences that could affect testing or field implementation.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute user migration and workstation refresh procedures with the responsible customer and technical teams.
• Move mailboxes and user data, configure workstations and perform authorized application and software pushes.
• Validate migrated services and user access, troubleshoot transition issues and support customer follow-up.
• Conduct quarterly comparisons of hardware, software and settings across development, staging and modernization environments.
• Document configuration differences and provide audit inputs for program status reporting.
• Assist shore C4I deployments, operational verification and updates to network configuration and installation records.

Requirements

Desired/Required Skills:

• Active Department of Defense Secret level security clearance required.
• DoD Approved 8570 / 8140 OS and Cybersecurity certifications required.
• Education: Bachelor’s level degree in an Engineering discipline.
• Experience: 3 years of professional experience in systems engineering.
• Experience moving user data and mailboxes, configuring workstations, deploying software and comparing hardware/software configurations across lab and operational environments.
• Maintain a Secret security clearance for onsite work at Government facilities.
• A favorable Tier 5 (T5) background investigation or equivalent is required for privileged access to Government information systems.
• Maintain applicable vendor certifications for the role in addition to applicable Information Assurance Technical (IAT) security certifications and cyberspace workforce training and qualifications for covered network duties.
• Able to travel to supported CONUS/OCONUS sites as tasking requires and complete applicable travel and installation training.
