Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
Reporting to the Contract Manager, you’ll play a critical role in inspecting network assets, identifying defects, and supporting maintenance planning to ensure compliance, safety, and value-driven outcomes across the network.

Key responsibilities:

Network inspection & defect management

  • Conduct regular inspections of roads and corridor assets to identify and prioritise defects
  • Recommend cost-effective treatment solutions and timeframes
  • Monitor defect performance and ensure compliance with contract standards
  • Work closely with delivery teams to support maintenance planning and execution
  • Participate in night inspections and emergency response activities when required

Asset data & systems (RAMM)

  • Accurately capture and manage defect data using RAMM/Pocket RAMM
  • Maintain high-quality asset data in line with client (NZTA/Council) requirements
  • Support field data collection and ensure accuracy and completeness of records

Contract performance & planning

  • Provide insights and data to support maintenance programmes and optimisation
  • Identify risks, variations, and improvement opportunities
  • Deliver timely reporting on network performance and issues

You’ll be a motivated professional who thrives in a field-based role and enjoys problem-solving in a practical environment.

You will bring:

  • Experience in network inspection, roading maintenance, or asset management
  • Strong understanding of defect identification and treatment selection
  • Experience using RAMM or similar asset systems
  • Excellent planning, organisation, and attention to detail
  • Confidence working independently and making sound field decisions
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
