Cellular Origins

Cell therapies have been shown to cure devastating diseases like cancer by reprogramming a patient’s own immune system, offering hope where there was none before. Giving more patients access to these life-saving therapies requires a revolution in manufacturing and process automation.

Cellular Origins leading this revolution. Our proprietary technology tackles the challenges of large-scale production with an elegant robotic automation system that cuts costs, reduces labour, eliminates human error, and boosts efficiency.

Job Description

About the role

As a Network Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing, building and maintaining the compute and network infrastructure in our on-site test environments and remote customer deployments. You will work across a wide range of technologies including server racks, segregated factory networks, industrial workstation connections and remote monitoring.

This is a practical, hands-on role. As well as working with suppliers to specify the appropriate equipment, you’ll build server racks, perform software installation, fit cabling, configure network routing and set up service monitoring.

Working closely with our Platform Engineers, you’ll work with a variety of technical teams to set up network infrastructure for prototype test rigs, demonstration factory lines as well as deploying the finalized designs at customer sites. You’ll be a subject matter expert in correctly selecting and scaling infrastructure to meet the requirements of each type of installation.

This is an opportunity to join a truly multi-disciplinary team and broaden your skillset. As well as working within an established group, you’ll regularly collaborate across robotics, systems engineering and test teams.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring

You’ll have a strong background in the design, implementation and deployment of platform infrastructure in both in-house and remote environments. Your open and collaborative working style combined with a breadth of technical knowledge will allow you to work effectively with the whole team.

Essential:

  • Ability to build and configure server racks, install and connect switches/routers, patch panels and power systems.
  • Ability to appropriately set up and configure networks including considerations of TCP/IP addressing schemes, physical/logical network segmentation, routing and firewall rules.
  • Ability to set up Linux and Windows operating systems and configure remote deployment tools onto bare-metal industrial and embedded PCs.
  • Proactive approach to customer support and system maintenance: clear, early communication to relevant stakeholders that identifies required equipment, reconfiguration, repairs and emerging risks.

Desirable:

  • Interest or previous experience working with robotic automation systems, industrial/embedded PCs or installation in factory environments. Previous experience with Ubiquiti equipment would also be desirable.
  • Experience monitoring the health and capacity of network and compute to ensure reliable factory operation. Ability to diagnose common faults including hardware failures, incorrect configuration and capacity limitations.
  • Experience maintaining and updating network architecture, server racking, cabling and wiring documentation and diagrams.
  • Experiencing selecting and procuring appropriate server hardware, network switches/routers, cabling and UPS systems for a variety of different projects.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or vocational qualification in Computer Engineering, Networking, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field or equivalent industry experience.
  • 3 years’ experience in network, infrastructure or industrial IT roles.
