Role Summary / Job Purpose

The Network Implementation Engineer is responsible for delivering site infrastructure projects across client facilities, including offices, manufacturing sites, laboratories, warehouses, and distribution centres. The role focuses on the deployment, upgrade, migration, remediation, and standardisation of site network infrastructure, ensuring secure, reliable, and compliant connectivity aligned with client global standards.

The engineer will work closely with STS Delivery Project Managers, Global Network Services, Site IT, Facilities, Cybersecurity and third-party vendors to deliver infrastructure modernisation initiatives, technical debt remediation programmes, and Mergers, Acquisitions & Divestitures (MA&D) projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead network implementation activities for site infrastructure projects, including site refreshes, expansions, consolidations, closures, and new site deployments.
• Deliver network workstreams for MA&D projects, supporting site integrations, separations, and transitions.
• Execute technical debt remediation initiatives, including lifecycle refreshes, hardware replacement, network standardisation, and security-driven upgrades.
• Coordinate and oversee MDF and IDF buildouts, upgrades, remediation, and decommissioning activities.
• Install, configure, and validate:
• Cisco switching infrastructure
• Aruba wireless access points and associated services
• Palo Alto firewalls
• Structured cabling and fibre infrastructure
• Execute network migrations, cutovers, and implementation activities with minimal business disruption.
• Develop implementation, testing, validation, and rollback plans.
• Coordinate suppliers, cabling vendors, and local site resources during project delivery.
• Produce and maintain network diagrams, rack elevations, MDF/IDF layouts, and as-built documentation.
• Ensure all deployments comply with client network architecture, cybersecurity, and change management standards.

Required Skills

• Strong experience delivering enterprise network infrastructure and site deployment projects.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Cisco Catalyst switching platforms
• Aruba wireless solutions
• Palo Alto firewalls
• MDF and IDF environments
• Structured cabling and fibre connectivity
• Experience delivering infrastructure projects within office, manufacturing, laboratory, or warehouse environments.
• Knowledge of switching, VLANs, network segmentation, and site connectivity principles.
• Strong troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and project coordination skills.
• Experience supporting infrastructure integrations, separations, or large-scale migration programmes is highly desirable.

Stakeholder Management / Influence

• The engineer will work closely with STS Delivery Project Managers, Global Network Services, Site IT, Facilities, Cybersecurity and third-party vendors to deliver infrastructure modernisation initiatives, technical debt remediation programmes, and Mergers, Acquisitions & Divestitures (MA&D) projects.
• This role is a key member of the STS Delivery organisation, ensuring the successful delivery of secure, resilient, and standardised network infrastructure across the client global footprint.

Education & Certification Requirements

• Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Networking, or Telecommunications.
• Cisco CCNA or equivalent experience

• Aruba Certification
• Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE
• ITIL Foundation
