Zayo is seeking a Network Enhancements Sr Program Manager with deep expertise in the telecommunications industry to lead and oversee complex, large-scale projects that drive our network infrastructure, technology, and service offerings. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-impact programs on time and within budget, managing cross-functional teams, and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of projects that enhance our telecom services and capabilities.

In this role you will support various teams such as Construction, Network Planning, Engineering, Network Monitoring & Automation, Architecture, Security and Telemetry. This is a fast-paced, high impact role and the candidate will need to set expectations across leadership levels and be able to push through roadblocks and obstacles to complete tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program & Project Leadership Lead and manage the successful delivery of multiple telecommunications projects, ensuring they align with organizational goals and customer needs.

  • Strategic Planning & Execution Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets. Define project scope, objectives, milestones, and success metrics, working closely with stakeholders and internal teams to set clear expectations.

  • Stakeholder Engagement Act as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, including senior leadership, engineering teams, vendors, and customers. Effectively communicate project status, risks, and issues, and manage stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Risk & Issue Management Identify potential project risks, mitigate impacts, and proactively address issues. Create risk management plans and ensure proper contingency strategies are in place to handle any disruptions.

  • Cross-functional Team Coordination Collaborate with teams from various departments to ensure that resources are allocated effectively and project objectives are met.

  • Resource & Budget Management Provide reporting and oversight to project budgets, enabling financial control and cost efficiency. Track resource allocation and adjust plans as needed to optimize resource utilization and ensure deadlines are met.

  • Regulatory & Compliance Oversight Ensure that all projects meet regulatory and compliance standards specific to the telecommunications industry.

  • Quality Assurance Oversee project deliverables, ensuring they meet quality standards and customer expectations. Perform quality control checks throughout the project phases, including design, deployment, and post-implementation.

  • Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including project plans, risk assessments, schedules, and progress reports. Provide senior management with regular updates on project health, challenges, and milestones.

  • Change Management Manage scope changes and ensure effective change control processes are followed. Adjust plans as needed to incorporate changes in technology, regulations, or customer requirements.

Requirements:

  • Experience At least seven (7) years of project management experience, with three to five (3-5) years specifically in the telecommunications industry, managing large-scale projects such as network deployments, infrastructure upgrades, or service rollouts.

  • Educational Background A bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. PMP, PgMP, or similar project management certifications required. Agile or Scrum certifications are a plus.

  • Telecommunications Knowledge Strong understanding of telecom technologies and infrastructure, including mobile networks (e.g., 4G, 5G), fiber optics, DWDM, Ethernet/IP, wireless communication, cloud services, and network security.

  • Leadership & Communication Skills Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders at all levels, and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Project Management Expertise Demonstrated experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and tools (e.g., Asana, Salesforce, Microsoft Project, Jira).

  • Risk & Budget Management Strong risk management, financial oversight, and resource management skills with the ability to deliver projects within budget and on time.

  • Regulatory Compliance Familiarity with telecom industry regulations, compliance standards, and industry certifications.

  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex project challenges and drive decision-making.

  • Tools Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana), Google Products, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry Experience In-depth experience with the deployment and management of telecom infrastructure, including 5G networks, fiber optic networks, or telecommunications equipment.

  • Agile/Scrum Certification Agile certifications, such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), are highly desirable.

  • Vendor Management Experience Experience managing third-party vendors and contractors, including negotiating contracts and ensuring performance and deliverables meet specifications.

Estimated base salary range: $87,600 - $92,000 USD/annually

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.

Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
