Network Engineer (Hybrid Cloud & Infrastructure)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join a collaborative infrastructure team responsible for supporting and enhancing a complex enterprise network environment. This role will focus on maintaining network stability, improving operational processes, and supporting strategic initiatives across on-premises and cloud-based platforms. The ideal candidate will bring strong routing, switching, firewall, and cloud networking expertise, along with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Network Operations & Support

• Provide Tier 2/3 support for network-related incidents and service requests.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex routing, switching, firewall, and connectivity issues.
• Maintain network performance, availability, and reliability across enterprise environments.
• Support day-to-day operational activities and infrastructure maintenance.

Infrastructure Engineering

• Assist with network upgrades, implementations, and infrastructure changes.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve network readiness and scalability for evolving business and platform requirements.
• Contribute to network design improvements and modernization initiatives.
• Support hybrid cloud networking environments spanning AWS and Azure.

Cloud Networking

• Manage and troubleshoot AWS networking services, including VPCs, routing, security groups, and connectivity solutions.
• Support Direct Connect and hybrid connectivity between cloud and on-premises environments.
• Collaborate with cloud and compute teams to ensure secure, reliable network integration.
• Participate in cloud migration and infrastructure optimization efforts.

Security & Network Resilience

• Configure and support Palo Alto firewalls and network security technologies.
• Implement network best practices to improve security, visibility, and operational efficiency.
• Assist with monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability remediation efforts.
• Ensure network architectures align with organizational security standards.

Process Improvement & Documentation

• Develop and maintain network documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
• Improve operational maturity through process optimization and execution consistency.
• Enhance monitoring, reporting, and visibility across network environments.
• Participate in knowledge sharing and mentoring activities within the engineering team.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of Network Engineering experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies.
• Experience supporting Palo Alto firewalls.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across network infrastructure.
• Experience supporting AWS networking environments, including VPCs and Direct Connect.
• Knowledge of enterprise networking concepts including routing protocols, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and network security.
• Ability to work effectively across infrastructure, cloud, and security teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• CCNA certification required or equivalent networking experience.
• CCNP certification strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting Azure networking services.
• Experience with hybrid cloud architectures and cloud connectivity solutions.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and performance management tools.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Atlanta, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $60.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
