Job Description

Responsible for the buildout of the Universal United Kingdom Resort wired and wireless network. Uses knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to implement and support internal and external networks. Tests and evaluates network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements. Identify capacity and performance issues to ensure uninterrupted service. Provide network expertise for project build-out. Assist in the operational, strategic planning, and business continuity / disaster recovery solution. Work with other business units as needed. Work on park network infrastructure. Provide day-to-day support, proactive maintenance, and perform system troubleshooting. Serves as the network engineering resource during construction and build phases, ensuring network design integrity, implementation alignment, and site readiness.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Network Delivery & Implementation

• Own all local network deliverables from initiation through completion. Support the successful implementation of wired, wireless, and WAN network solutions. Ensure network deliverables align with project timelines, requirements, and operational readiness. Support construction, implementation, and pre-go-live validation phases.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Requirements Planning

• Partner with project teams to gather and understand network requirements. Work with the Network team to develop implementation and support plans. Coordinate with internal stakeholders, vendors, partners, and third-party providers to ensure network needs are addressed. Participate in project meetings and provide progress updates to Network leadership.

Network Operations, Support & Troubleshooting

• Troubleshoot network and communication issues across local wired, wireless, and wide area networks. Provide support for network users, partners, and third-party vendors within the park and Bedford area remote locations. Respond to emergency network outages and resolve issues impacting construction, implementation, or go-live readiness. Support day-to-day network stability and operational continuity.

Technology Strategy, Testing & Leadership Communication

• Coordinate with Network leadership to test and develop new technologies. Ensure technology solutions align with the UDX Mission Statement and business goals. Assist with operational and strategic planning for network services. Communicate risks, status updates, and implementation progress to Network leadership

Additional Responsibilities

• Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• Experience managing/supporting Cisco network infrastructure.
• Experience working on Cisco Routing & Switching.
• Experience on wireless infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of large-scale network design and topology.
• Experience troubleshooting Cisco switches and routers.
• Cisco Platform experience (Route/Switch, WiFi, Security, Datacenter).

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Cisco Certified Network Associate – Routing and Switching.
• Cisco Certified Network Professional – Routing and Switching (preferred).
• Cisco WiFi.
• HPE/Aruba WiFi.
