RMANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Network Engineer to join our team in Norfolk, VA. This is an onsite position.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Providing network security support to Navy operational and training networks
Ensuring uninterrupted network connectivity to customers and sites by planning and executing the installation of new capabilities, as well as operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting network connectivity and infrastructure on enterprise managed networks including support of multiple network enclaves across classification levels
Identifying and analyzing systems requirements, developing and maintaining system applications and security, developing and maintaining network configurations, as well as developing and maintaining a disaster recovery plan
Design, implementation, operation, and maintenance.
Lead the planning, design, and engineering of networks, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.
Conduct detailed link budget analysis, path profiling, frequency planning, interference analysis, and capacity planning.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network operations, field technicians, project managers, and vendors, to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
Up to 25% travel required or as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related field and 5+ years relevant network engineering experience, or a High School Diploma and 11+ years of relevant network engineering experience in lieu of Bachelors degree.
Cybersecurity Workforce Framework (CSWF) requirements with current baseline and Computing Environment/Operating System (CE/OS) certifications
IAT-II level at a minimum in accordance with SECNAV M-5239.2 and DoD 8140/8570 (ex. CompTia Sec+)
Must have CCNP Certification
Must have experience with network standards, protocols, security, and applications
Must have experience with capabilities and applications of network equipment (ex. hubs, routers, switches, bridges, firewalls, servers, transmission media, and/or related hardware)
Must have experience with network architecture and infrastructure; LAN/WAN principles and concepts including bandwidth management; network systems design, development, testing, installation, operations, management, and/or maintenance concepts and methods
Preferred Qualifications:
Seven or more (7+) years of relevant work experience as a network engineer within a U.S. Government environment, DoD strongly preferred
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or other related field
Experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or Network Operations Security Center (NOSC) environment including help desk, customer communication, trouble ticketing, and issue resolution
Familiarity with cloud-based network management platforms for microwave systems.
CCIE Certification
Clearance Requirements:
Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
