Job Role Summary

The Network Engineer is responsible for the implementation, and support of enterprise and data center–wide voice and data network solutions that align with Ensono’s architecture standards and business objectives. This role ensures stable, secure, and scalable network services for Ensono and its customers by developing, implementing, and maintaining network, security/threat, and voice solutions.

The Network Engineer works independently on complex assignments, collaborates with senior engineers and cross‑functional teams, and provides technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.

Duties and Responsibilities

Technical Delivery & Operations

  • Implement, and maintain enterprise and data center network solutions, including routing, switching, security, voice, and load‑balancing technologies.
  • Manage, configure, and troubleshoot routing and switching devices across enterprise networks.
  • Implement and maintain firewall solutions using Palo Alto and/or Check Point technologies, including policy configuration, NAT, VPNs, and platform upgrades.
  • Configure, monitor, and optimize load balancers (F5, Citrix NetScaler, A10, or equivalent) to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Participate in network upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.

Incident, Change & Problem Management

  • Perform proactive network monitoring, incident response, and root cause analysis for escalated issues.
  • Drive Major Incident (MI) calls end‑to‑end and ensure effective resolution and stakeholder communication.
  • Participate in network‑related projects, change tickets, and trouble tickets.
  • Assist in prioritization of network issues and provide frontline response to internal teams.

Engineering Standards & Documentation

  • Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, standards, and guidelines.
  • Contribute to network and security capacity planning activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Ensono security standards and industry best practices.

Collaboration & Customer Engagement

  • Interact and consult with Ensono customers to gather solution requirements.
  • Coordinate solutions with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Communicate project status effectively and support client satisfaction measurement.

Leadership, Ownership & Strategy

  • Fully functional and self‑directed on assigned work.
  • Own high‑complexity and moderate‑complexity assignments; provide oversight and review for low‑complexity work.
  • Lead high‑priority technical initiatives or processes.
  • Act as a product, technology, or domain Subject Matter Expert (SME) as required.
  • Provide formal or informal mentorship to less experienced associates.
  • Contribute to product and technology strategy (e.g., Cisco or security platforms), including:
    • Input into product roadmaps and requirements
    • Collaboration with engineering and delivery teams to align strategy with implementation and operational capabilities

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).
  • Expertise in switching technologies (VLANs, STP, trunking, EtherChannel).
  • Hands‑on experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies.
  • Hands‑on experience with firewall technologies (Palo Alto and/or Check Point).
  • Experience with load balancers such as F5, Citrix NetScaler, A10, or equivalent.
  • Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment.

Preferred

  • Advanced knowledge of routing, switching, and security policy design.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios).
  • Relevant certifications or equivalent experience in one or more of the following:
    • CCNA, CCNP, CCDP, CCIE
    • Palo Alto (PCNSE)
    • F5 Certification
    • Check Point or other security certifications

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and operate effectively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrates a holistic perspective and adjusts priorities based on the broader business impact.
