
Role: Network Engineer (Level 2)
Contract Length: 6 months, starting July
Rate: Up to £440/day (outside IR35)
Location: Jersey-based preferred; UK mainland applicants must be willing to travel onsite
Join a critical transformation programme. Our client's IT Infrastructure Improvement initiative. This contract opportunity suits a hands-on Network Engineer ready to contribute to modernising core infrastructure while enhancing network performance, reliability, and security.
You'll play a key role in configuring and supporting network devices, resolving connectivity issues, assisting with upgrades, and maintaining detailed documentation. From daily operations to larger implementation projects, your work will support resilient and secure digital services across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and document changes to routers, switches, firewalls
Troubleshoot and resolve network faults
Support hardware refresh and network optimisation
Perform compliance and security audits
Maintain network topology diagrams and configuration records
Requirements:
24 years experience in enterprise network support
CCNA certified (other certifications a plus)
Proficient with routing, switching, DNS/DHCP, VPNs
Familiar with tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark
Experience in structured ITSM and change-controlled environments
