Job Description

The Network Operations Tools & Automation Team is seeking a Network Automation Engineer/Administrator to join its growing organization. This team is responsible for driving automation initiatives across enterprise network infrastructure, cloud environments, DNS services, and Extranet connectivity.

As a key member of the team, you will serve as a primary interface within cloud and network operations environments, helping design, implement, and support next-generation automation solutions. The organization is focused on modernizing and automating network operations as part of its transition toward advanced data center, cloud, and hosting environments.

This role will focus on the automation, monitoring, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure, including DNS services, Extranet connectivity, cloud networking, and network operations platforms. The ideal candidate will leverage automation frameworks and scripting technologies to streamline operational processes, improve visibility, and enhance overall service reliability.

Responsibilities include designing and integrating monitoring and automation solutions utilizing tools such as Splunk, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, and other enterprise platforms. The successful candidate will develop dashboards, reporting capabilities, and operational insights that support Network Operations, Engineering, Cloud, and Application Development teams.

This is a senior-level consulting role requiring both technical leadership and hands-on engineering expertise. Daily interaction with IT architects, security teams, network operations (Level 1 and Level 2), network engineering and planning organizations, cloud engineering teams, and infrastructure stakeholders will be expected. The environment is fast-paced, with evolving business requirements that require rapid assessment, prioritization, and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support network automation solutions across enterprise infrastructure.
• Develop automation workflows to improve network provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, and operational efficiency.
• Manage and support enterprise DNS technologies, ensuring availability, performance, and reliability.
• Support Extranet services and external partner connectivity solutions.
• Create and maintain monitoring dashboards, reporting solutions, and operational analytics.
• Collaborate with network engineering, cloud engineering, and security teams to deliver scalable infrastructure solutions.
• Utilize scripting and automation tools to streamline operational processes and reduce manual effort.
• Troubleshoot complex networking and connectivity issues across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Support network modernization initiatives, including cloud networking, hybrid connectivity, and infrastructure transformation projects.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.

This is a Contract position based out of Detroit, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
