Associate Network Engineer
Position Purpose:
The Associate Network Engineer under general supervision assists in the purchase, design, installation, and support of the enterprise network architecture, including LAN, WAN, IPT/VoIP, Wireless, NMS and Network Security systems. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations involving readily identifiable problems. Assists in the planning of large-scale infrastructure projects through vendor comparison and cost studies. Requires extensive knowledge of LAN, WAN, IPT, Wireless, NMS and network security infrastructure, networks, and applications.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain physical network connectivity to the network interface of external business partners.
- Perform troubleshooting and configuration of switches, routers, firewalls, access points, VPNs, and voice gateways.
- Resolve connectivity issues to external business partners, internet, and inter-site utilizing various reporting and monitoring tools.
- Perform software and hardware upgrades as assigned including planning, scheduling, testing and coordination.
- Analyze real-time network performance issues.
- Maintain user authentication and accounting system and respective logging for remote access and perform routine audits.
- Maintain documentation of network topology and update regularly.
- Identifies deficiencies of both technical issues and business processes, elevates risk to team lead and/or reporting management, and proposes innovative solutions to address issue.
Qualifications
Minimum Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills):
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field, bachelor's degree preferred and three years of experience in the field of Network Engineering
- Cisco certification; CCNA, CCVP, CCNP is highly desired. Cisco CCNA certification is preferred.
- ITIL certification is highly desired but not required.
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with network management concepts and associated technology is required
- Working knowledge of network infrastructure, protocols and standards is required
- Ability to adhere to standard operating procedures and able to work within standard network maintenance windows.
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to multi task with attention to detail
- Demonstrated reasoning and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to operate under tight deadlines and changing priorities is essential.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills (negotiation, coaching, team-building, positive thinking, can-do attitude and job flexibility) are required.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks is required.
- Must be an assertive team player with positive attitude and high energy level.
- Flexible with shifting schedule (Noon/Night shift).
- Amenable to work at Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City.
