More About the Role:
The Digital Modernization Sector of Leidos has an opportunity for a Senior Systems Administrator to support efforts for the Naval Enterprise Network (NEN) OCONUS portion of the NGEN-R Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) contract located in Naples, Italy.

NGEN-R SMIT is the largest IT services program for the Navy, delivering the Naval Enterprise Network (NEN); inclusive of cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, Leidos supports the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts on one enterprise network.

Responsible for operating and maintaining the NEN OCONUS infrastructure and network. This includes responding appropriately to alerts and events and responding to incidents from triage through resolution, including escalations, where appropriate; Conducting infrastructure repairs, including directing remote activities to maintain operational effectiveness for services; Providing root cause analysis documentation in accordance with Government procedures; Providing data center support where appropriate; Documenting daily shift activities in appropriate reporting and ticketing tools and ensure proper pass down of any outstanding issues; and, Providing incident notification to Government representatives.

What You'll Get to Do:
•Responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of Network Operations.
•Work with Cyber Security analysts to ensure Enterprise information flow is secure.
•Ensures effective and efficient operation of network systems, architecture, and topology.
•Monitor to ensure all operating systems are functioning properly and conform to operation security policies and procedures.
•Receive and analyze network alerts from various sources within the enterprise and determine possible causes of such alerts. Track and document incidents from initial detection through final resolution.
•Assists with the development and application of business processes to ensure appropriate service levels.
•Develop and implement standards, procedures, and processes for the Network Operations Center.
•Participate in strategic network and operations planning.
•Work within the DevSecOps methodology to plan and support the implementation of new technologies.
•Prepare recommendations for resolutions to NetOps challenges based on monitoring results, tools analysis, and/or forensics.
•Assist the Cyber Team employ approved defense-in-depth principles and practices (e.g., defense-in-multiple places, layered defenses, and security robustness). Assist with the collection of intrusion artifacts (e.g., source code, malware, and trojans) and use discovered data to enable mitigation of potential computer network defense (CND) incidents within the enterprise.
•Work with end users to resolve encountered technical issues.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, and 2-4 years of directly related work experience in the Information Technology field; or, Master’s Degree in relevant field, and less than 2 years of prior relevant experience. Four years of additional experience can be used in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
•US Citizen and DoD Secret Clearance.
•Possess a current Information Assurance Technician (IAT) II certification (ex. CompTIA Security+ certification).
•Current and valid Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
•Hands-on Experience in working with DoD networks, including NIPR and SIPR.
•Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network.
•Advise network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
•Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
•Possess one of the following Microsoft certifications: MCSA, MCSE, Azure Administrator Associate, or Endpoint Administrator Associate.
•Demonstrated hands-on expertise in networking technologies and data centers.
•Exceptional communication abilities, both verbal and written, including long-form business writing on complex topics.
•Proven ability to influence managers of other service support models and supporting teams.
•Ability to manage globally distributed 24x7 operations.
•Motivated self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to create complex technical reports on analytic findings.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $59,150.00 - $106,925.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
