Requirements

We are seeking an experienced
Senior Netezza or IIAS DBA (7+ years)
to provide
24x7 enterprise database administration and operational support
for large-scale
data warehouse and analytics platforms
. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in
performance tuning, troubleshooting, high availability, and database operations
within Netezza or IBM Integrated Analytics System (IIAS) environments.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Provide
  24x7 production support
  with rotational shifts and on-call responsibilities.

• 
  Administer, monitor, and maintain
  Netezza/IIAS databases
  across production and non-production environments.

• 
  Manage
  backup, recovery, performance tuning, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies
  .

• 
  Perform health checks, identify performance bottlenecks, and optimize database configurations and queries.

• 
  Automate operational tasks using scripting tools (Python, Shell, etc.).

• 
  Collaborate with
  BI, ETL, analytics, infrastructure, and security teams
  for integrations and platform enhancements.

• 
  Manage database security, access controls, and compliance requirements.

• 
  Execute database patching, upgrades, and migrations with minimal downtime.

• 
  Support deployment activities and resolve database-related incidents with root cause analysis.

• 
  Maintain accurate documentation, procedures, and operational best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• 
  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

• 
  7+ years DBA experience
  with Netezza or IIAS environments.

• 
  Strong understanding of
  data warehouse architecture, scaling, partitioning, performance optimization, and throughput management
  .

• 
  Expertise in scripting (Python, Shell) and automation tools.

• 
  Experience with
  HA/DR, backup/recovery, replication, and failover strategies
  .

• 
  Familiarity with monitoring tools such as
  Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, Nagios
  .

• 
  Experience supporting cloud deployments, migrations, or upgrades (Azure/GCP preferred).

• 
  Strong knowledge of database security, compliance, and audit requirements.

• 
  Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  IBM Certified Netezza DBA or related analytics platform certification.

• 
  Experience with hybrid/cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• 
  Exposure to ETL/BI tools and performance tuning for data warehouses.

• 
  Experience with automation frameworks (Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Shell scripting).
