Through its global SaaS platform, ZignSec helps regulated businesses streamline onboarding processes, enhance compliance, and reduce fraud risks across multiple jurisdictions. Following its acquisition by G2 Risk Solutions in 2025, ZignSec has become part of a broader global risk and compliance ecosystem, combining advanced identity verification capabilities with comprehensive risk intelligence and compliance solutions for financial institutions, fintechs, and online platforms worldwide.
At ZignSec, we are looking for an experienced C# .NET Team Lead to head one of our core engineering teams building the next generation of our KYC platform. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will set the technical direction, mentor and grow a team of skilled engineers, and remain close enough to the code to make sound architectural decisions and unblock the team when it matters.
You will work closely with product management, other engineering leads, and senior stakeholders to translate business goals into a clear technical roadmap, while fostering a culture of quality, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Leadership & people management
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of .NET engineers, including regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning.
• Drive hiring for the team: define role requirements, interview candidates, and onboard new hires.
• Foster a healthy, collaborative, and accountable team culture.
• Plan and prioritise team workload balancing delivery, technical debt, and innovation.
Technical leadership & architecture
• Own the architectural direction of your team’s services within our microservices- based platform, in alignment with our broader engineering strategy.
• Drive technical decision-making around .NET Core, MS SQL Server, RabbitMQ, Kubernetes on Azure, and the wider stack.
• Set and uphold engineering standards: code quality, testing, observability, security, and operational excellence.
• Lead architecture and design reviews; actively participate in code reviews to coach the team and raise the bar.
• Contribute hands-on to critical or complex parts of the codebase where your involvement adds the most value (expect roughly 30–50% hands-on coding, depending on
team needs).
Delivery & cross-functional collaboration
• Partner with Product Management to shape the roadmap and ensure timely, high- quality delivery.
• Collaborate with other Team Leads, Architects, and the CTO on cross-team initiatives and platform-wide concerns.
• Represent your team in technical discussions with stakeholders, customers, and partners when needed.
• Champion best practices in CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
Required Skills and Experience
• At least 10 years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong track record building production systems on .NET / .NET Core.
• At least 3 years in a formal leadership role (Team Lead, Engineering Manager, Tech Lead with people responsibility, or similar), including direct line management of
engineers.
• Proven experience designing and operating microservices architectures at scale.
• Deep expertise with MS SQL Server, including schema design, performance tuning, and query optimisation.
• Strong hands-on experience with RabbitMQ or comparable message queuing systems in production.
• Solid understanding of containerisation and orchestration, particularly
Kubernetes.
• Production experience on Azure, including services such as Application Gateway and API Management.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and grow engineers, conduct effective code reviews, and raise overall team quality.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in English (written and verbal).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with sound judgement about when to invest in quality versus ship pragmatically.
Desired Skills and Experience
• Experience in the KYC, RegTech, or FinTech domain.
• Experience building and scaling SaaS products, ideally B2B.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tooling such as Grafana and Loki, and a strong belief in observability as a first-class concern.
• Working knowledge of security best practices in software development (OWASP, secure SDLC, data protection).
• Experience leading teams through significant change: re-architecting, scaling, or migrating platforms.
• Familiarity with additional Azure services relevant to our stack.
• Familiarity with agile software development practices and project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
