Job Category: EducationCharlotte Latin School is hiring a temporary part-time Nest Assistant Teacher in our toddler classroom. The position will begin as early as February 3rd and finish on June 2nd, 2026. The Nest is open from 7:15-5:45. This position will be 11-4:30 p.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Meet the individual needs of the children
- Interact with children to support learning through play
- Present expectations that are appropriate to the child's age and developmental level
- Provide compassionate care in the areas of feeding, diapering, toilet training, etc.
- Communicate appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff
- Participate in staff and training meetings
- Complete annual required training hours as prescribed by the NC Division of Child Development
- Comply with school policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as needed

QualificationsEducation and Experience
- One year of teaching experience with preschool-age children is preferred.
Requirements
- State and Federal Background checks are required at time of hire and every five years.
- Annual Health Questionnaire (required by NC DCDEE)
- Health and safety training upon hire and every five years
- Negative TB test within the last year

Working Conditions and Environment
- Intermittently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds

- Frequently talk and hear
- Intermittently stand, stoop, bend, twist, crouch, kneel, crawl, walk, climb stairs, step stools and ladders, operate foot and hand controls, squeeze, and reach above shoulders
- Exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, flammables, grease, dirt, stacked materials, electrical equipment, machinery, low to medium noise levels, and moderate indoor temperatures of heat and cold
