Job DetailsJob Location: Charlotte Campus - Charlotte, NC 28277Position Type: TemporaryJob Shift: DayJob Category: EducationCharlotte Latin School is hiring a temporary part-time Nest Assistant Teacher in our toddler classroom. The position will begin as early as February 3rd and finish on June 2nd, 2026. The Nest is open from 7:15-5:45. This position will be 11-4:30 p.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Meet the individual needs of the children
Interact with children to support learning through play
Present expectations that are appropriate to the child's age and developmental level
Provide compassionate care in the areas of feeding, diapering, toilet training, etc.
Communicate appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff
Participate in staff and training meetings
Complete annual required training hours as prescribed by the NC Division of Child Development
Comply with school policies and procedures
Perform other duties as needed

QualificationsEducation and Experience
One year of teaching experience with preschool-age children is preferred.
Requirements
State and Federal Background checks are required at time of hire and every five years.
Annual Health Questionnaire (required by NC DCDEE)
Health and safety training upon hire and every five years
Negative TB test within the last year

Working Conditions and Environment
Intermittently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds
Continuously see, sit, balance, grasp, and have repetitive use of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers; and some fine finger dexterity
Frequently talk and hear
Intermittently stand, stoop, bend, twist, crouch, kneel, crawl, walk, climb stairs, step stools and ladders, operate foot and hand controls, squeeze, and reach above shoulders
Exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, flammables, grease, dirt, stacked materials, electrical equipment, machinery, low to medium noise levels, and moderate indoor temperatures of heat and cold
Long or odd hours, as needed
