Responsibilities

We have an immediate opening for a full-time Associate Analyst or Analyst to join our Energy and Natural Resources business in Madrid.

Responsibilities may include: designing and building quantitative models and applying econometric analysis to economic and financial data; collecting market, industry, company, and competitor information; reviewing, summarizing and analyzing industry trends; managing large data sets and developing code to perform complex analysis; auction design and/or simulation; the development of pricing systems for infrastructure; analysis of financial market data; creating trial exhibits; drafting memos, expert reports and presentation materials; and participating in team meetings and conference calls. This is a team-based, multi-task environment that requires precision work that is both qualitative and quantitative, often with tight deadlines.

Associate Analyst or Analyst at NERA will have the opportunity to:

• Apply the technical skills and knowledge gained during their graduate studies
• Conduct high-powered economic research across a wide variety of industries
• Perform and develop cutting-edge economic analysis on complex real-life issues
• Write research reports and prepare client presentations for senior staff and clients to help them make informed economic decisions
• Influence project strategy, including the preparation and presentation of oral and written submissions
• Collaborate with in-house experts and outside academics
• Develop and strengthen both project and people management skills

You will need

• ​To hold a BA/BSc and a Master’s or PhD in Economics or related discipline with exceptional academic records. Although specialisms such as microeconomics, IO, econometrics and finance are of particular interest, NERA employs strong analytic and empirical economists from any field of specialty.
• To enjoy microeconomics and quantitative research
• To have a good working knowledge of Excel, Stata, R, Python, or other statistical and analytical software. Experience with AI-assisted coding tools, such as GitHub Copilot or Codex, is also desirable
• To have strong attention to detail and be able to think analytically and critically
• Strong communication skills in English and Spanish, both written and spoken are essential
• To be able to work effectively both individually and in teams

Buscamos incorporar de forma inmediata un Associate Analyst o Analyst a tiempo completo para nuestro equipo de Energía y Recursos Naturales en Madrid. Entre sus principales responsabilidades se incluyen el diseño y desarrollo de modelos cuantitativos, la aplicación de técnicas econométricas a datos económicos y financieros, la recopilación y análisis de información sobre mercados, sectores industriales, empresas y competidores, y el análisis de las principales tendencias de la industria. Asimismo, trabajará con grandes volúmenes de datos y desarrollará código para realizar análisis complejos. También participará en el diseño de subastas y modelos de simulación, en el diseño de tarifas para infraestructuras y en el análisis de datos de mercados financieros.

Entre sus funciones también se encuentran la preparación de documentación y material de apoyo para procedimientos judiciales, la redacción de memorandos, informes periciales y presentaciones, así como la participación en reuniones de equipo y con clientes. El puesto se desarrolla en un entorno colaborativo y dinámico, en el que se combinan análisis cualitativos y cuantitativos con un elevado nivel de rigor, precisión y atención al detalle, a menudo bajo plazos exigentes.

Los Associate Analyst o Analyst en NERA tendrán la oportunidad de:

• Diseñar y desarrollar modelos cuantitativos, así como aplicar técnicas econométricas a datos económicos y financieros
• Recopilar y analizar información sobre mercados, sectores, empresas y competidores
• Analizar y sintetizar las tendencias de la industria
• Gestionar grandes volúmenes de datos y desarrollar código en Excel, Stata, Python u otras herramientas de análisis económico y estadístico para realizar análisis complejos
• Preparar documentación y material de apoyo para procedimientos judiciales
• Redactar memorandos, informes periciales y presentaciones
• Participar en reuniones de equipo y con clientes

Necesitarás

​Tener un Grado y un Máster o Doctorado en Economía, Finanzas o una disciplina relacionada, con un excelente expediente académico. Aunque se valorarán especialmente perfiles con formación en microeconomía, organización industrial, econometría y finanzas, buscamos economistas con una sólida formación analítica y empírica, independientemente de su área de especialización.

• Tener interés por la microeconomía y la investigación cuantitativa
• Contar con un buen dominio de Excel, Stata, R, Python u otras herramientas de análisis económico y estadístico. Se valorará la experiencia con herramientas de asistencia a la programación basadas en IA, como GitHub Copilot o Codex
• Tener una gran atención al detalle y ser capaz de pensar de manera analítica y crítica
• Tener excelentes habilidades de comunicación oral y escrita en español e inglés
• Ser capaz de trabajar de manera efectiva tanto de forma individual como en equipo
