Job Description
We are seeking a highly qualified and compassionate Specialist / Consultant Neonatologist with a valid DHA License or DHA Eligibility to join a leading hospital in Dubai. The successful candidate will provide specialized care for premature, critically ill, and high-risk newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), ensuring the highest standards of evidence-based neonatal care and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, evaluate, and manage premature, critically ill, and high-risk newborns in the NICU.
- Attend high-risk deliveries and provide immediate neonatal resuscitation and stabilization.
- Manage neonatal emergencies, respiratory distress, sepsis, congenital disorders, and other critical neonatal conditions.
- Perform neonatal procedures, including endotracheal intubation, umbilical venous and arterial catheterization, lumbar puncture, chest tube insertion, and exchange transfusion.
- Manage mechanical ventilation, CPAP, high-frequency ventilation, and other advanced respiratory support modalities.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, pediatric surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive neonatal care.
- Counsel and educate parents regarding neonatal conditions, treatment plans, prognosis, and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate medical records and clinical documentation.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and continuing medical education (CME).
- Ensure compliance with DHA regulations, hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and patient safety standards.
- Participate in on-call duties and emergency neonatal coverage as required.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- MD, DNB, Arab Board, MRCPCH, Fellowship in Neonatology, or equivalent recognized postgraduate qualification.
- Valid DHA License or DHA Eligibility is mandatory.
- Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialization experience in Neonatology, preferably in a Level III or Level IV NICU.
- Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is preferred.
- Strong expertise in neonatal intensive care, ventilation management, and neonatal emergency procedures.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
