Job Description

Our leading healthcare facility is looking for an experienced Specialist Neonatologist to provide specialized medical care to newborns, including premature, critically ill, and high-risk infants. The ideal candidate should have strong NICU experience and expertise in neonatal stabilization, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to premature, critically ill, and high-risk newborns.
  • Assess and manage neonates with respiratory distress, sepsis, jaundice, birth asphyxia, congenital abnormalities, and metabolic disorders.
  • Provide neonatal resuscitation and stabilization in delivery rooms and emergency situations.
  • Manage infants requiring mechanical ventilation, CPAP, oxygen therapy, and other respiratory support.
  • Monitor and manage critically ill neonates in the NICU.
  • Interpret laboratory investigations, blood gases, imaging, and other neonatal diagnostic tests.
  • Manage feeding, nutrition, fluid and electrolyte balance, and growth of premature and critically ill infants.
  • Provide care for low-birth-weight and extremely premature babies.
  • Identify and manage neonatal complications and coordinate specialist referrals when required.
  • Work closely with obstetricians, pediatric surgeons, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other multidisciplinary teams.
  • Counsel parents regarding the baby's condition, treatment plan, prognosis, and follow-up requirements.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with UAE healthcare standards.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement programs, teaching, and continuing medical education.

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
  • Recognized postgraduate qualification in Pediatrics and/or Neonatology such as MD, DNB, MRCPCH, Arab Board, or equivalent.
  • Relevant Neonatology subspecialty training/fellowship where applicable.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant post-specialization clinical experience preferred.
  • Strong NICU experience and neonatal critical-care skills.
  • Current NRP certification is highly desirable.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
