NEON COLLEGE AMBASSADOR PROGRAM - Fall 2026

The NEON College Ambassador Program is currently accepting applications from undergraduate students enrolled at the following universities:

  • USC
  • Chapman University
  • Yale University
  • SCAD
  • University of Arizona
  • Harvard University
  • Northwestern University
  • CU Boulder
  • Columbia University
  • Temple University

We ask that you please only apply if you are currently enrolled at one of the universities above.

NEON is looking for an outgoing, passionate, and communications-savvy college student to be our on-campus representative for the Fall 2026 semester (August - December) with the opportunity to re-apply each subsequent semester. As part of our marketing program, you’ll work collaboratively with the NEON team and other campus representatives at colleges across the country, organizing and executing a variety of outreach, marketing, and publicity campaigns for NEON film releases. Those selected for this program will gain hands-on experience working in film marketing and distribution, as well as valuable connections and the opportunity to learn from NEON staff.

Our ideal candidate is deeply engaged in their campus community and well-connected across campus groups, especially through social media platforms. They are a major fan of NEON and have a nuanced understanding of how to promote NEON’s unique brand on their campus and in their local area. They are a fun-loving and energetic self-starter.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Organize and promote advanced, free screenings of upcoming NEON films for students at on-campus venues or local movie theaters
    • Design and implement marketing campaigns/stunts specific to your campus
    • Engage diverse communities on your campus through social media
    • Establish relationships with student organizations, relevant departments, and theatrical programmers on campus that can assist in promoting and filling screenings
    • Work with on-campus media outlets to secure coverage of NEON events
  • Conduct outreach and promotional activities for NEON including on-campus tabling and swag giveaways
  • Participate in individual and group brainstorm projects/presentations for upcoming NEON films
  • Occasionally assist with checking in guests at local NEON PR/marketing screenings
  • Attend weekly virtual meetings with NEON employees and other ambassadors

  1. Tell us about yourself and your role on campus. How are you connected to your school’s film community? Do you belong to any groups or networks that allow you to reach a wide audience on campus and/or do you have your own social media presence?
  2. Are you on Letterboxd? Tell us about your Top 4 favorite films.
  3. Discuss a recent film from the last 12 months not released by NEON that you believe effectively targeted the 18-25 year old demo through its marketing strategy. Explain why you think it was successful in reaching this audience and mention specific elements of the marketing campaign.

Requirements

Our applicant requirements are:

  • Must be a current undergraduate student (rising sophomore, junior, or senior) on campus for the entirety of the school year 2026-27. Freshmen will not be considered but are welcome to apply next year!
  • Social media / communications savvy
  • Must love film and demonstrate a familiarity with NEON's brand and output
  • Available 5 hours per week / 20 hours per month

Compensation:

  • This position pays $18.00/hr
