We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Northampton to assist with the appointment of a Neighbourhood Housing Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £17.05 - £21.59 per hour

Summary:

The Neighbourhood Housing Officer will deliver frontline housing management services to council tenants and leaseholders. The role will provide a customer-focused tenancy management service covering tenancy and leasehold management, income collection and arrears recovery, anti-social behaviour, estate management, customer engagement and enforcement of tenancy conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a consistent, customer-focused housing management service to tenants and leaseholders.
  • Provide accurate housing advice, guidance, support and assistance to customers in a timely manner.
  • Undertake home and property visits, including tenancy reviews, property inspections, settling-in visits, abandoned property reports, pre-void inspections and warrants of entry.
  • Process tenancy changes, mutual exchanges, property alterations and home move assistance applications.
  • Respond to tenancy reference requests.
  • Assist with arranging emergency accommodation where properties are damaged or deemed uninhabitable.

Qualification:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English, or equivalent.

Essentials:

  • Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in a similar housing role within a local authority or registered provider.
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation, regulation and case law.
  • Experience of working with customers who have difficult circumstances, multiple or complex needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload independently to meet targets and service demands.
  • Excellent interviewing, negotiation and mediation skills.

  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires a Basic DBS
