Acuren is currently recruiting for an experienced NDT Supervisor to support operations at the Parkland Refinery in Burnaby, BC!

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced NDT professional looking to take on a leadership role in a dynamic industrial environment. As an NDT Supervisor, you will support the Superintendent by coordinating daily and weekly work activities, aligning resources, and ensuring quality field execution across routine inspection and maintenance work.

Position Details:

  • Site/Location: Parkland Refinery – Burnaby, BC - Must be local to Burnaby or the surrounding area.
  • Start Date: Immediately
  • Schedule: 4x10s rotation
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Rate: Up to $58.63/hour + Supervisor Uplift as per the QCCC Agreement, based on certifications.

Responsibilities

Planning & Resource Coordination:

  • Translate client priorities into executable daily and weekly work plans and prepare work packages to support efficient field execution.
  • Track and accurately enter crew hours, maintaining a strong understanding of the work scope, resources, and effort required to complete assigned tasks.
  • Coordinate and allocate crews, equipment, and materials to meet project deadlines, adjusting resources as priorities and site conditions change.
  • Lead field walkdowns to define work scope, confirm job readiness, and identify safety, access, and operational constraints.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors supporting piping, pressure equipment, and specialty inspection services.
  • Coordinate after-hours and weekend support as required, ensuring effective communication and handoffs between shifts.

Field Execution & Quality:

  • Ensure NDT technicians have access to and consistently follow applicable procedures, standards, and client requirements.
  • Review inspection reports and data for accuracy and quality; coach leads and technicians while reinforcing accountability to established procedures and standards.
  • Monitor work progress, constraints, and potential risks; escalate issues proactively and develop recovery plans to minimize delays and maintain schedule commitments.
  • Support auditing of key inspection and NDE programs to ensure conformance, effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability, and operational excellence across all field activities.

Reporting & Performance Management:

  • Utilize Airtable to manage work activities and maintain accurate job records, including tracking downtime, completing Variance Forms (FCNs), and recording specific downtime details in the Acuren remarks section.
  • Track and communicate operational metrics and provide monthly KPI reporting to the Superintendent.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting to support operational visibility, performance tracking, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Technical & Operational Requirements:

  • Minimum5 years of NDT experience in an industrial, refinery, petrochemical, or related environment, including supervisory or lead experience.
  • Relevant NDT certifications required for the role; additional certifications considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of NDT methods, procedures, standards, and quality requirements.
  • Experience coordinating crews, equipment, materials, work scopes, and daily field activities.
  • Ability to develop work plans, assess field readiness, and manage changing priorities and site conditions.
  • Experience reviewing inspection reports and NDT data for accuracy, quality, and compliance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Airtable or similar work-management platforms is an asset.

Leadership & Communication:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to coach technicians and hold teams accountable to safety, quality, and procedures.
  • Experience working with client Operations/Inspection, Maintenance Planners, Inspection Leads, subcontractors, and specialty service providers.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks, escalate issues, and develop recovery plans.
  • Ability to support after-hours and weekend coordination when required.
  • Must be local to Burnaby, BC, or the surrounding area and legally authorized to work in Canada.
