Job Description

Our client is a small testing, inspection, and certification agency that is expanding their footprint in China.

They are seeking an independent and highly-motivated NDT Level 2 Inspector to support their clients with testing, inspection, and product certification activities - particularly for the electronics and mechanical manufacturing industries. In this role, you will partner closely with engineering teams, quality personnel, production, and certification experts to ensure products and processes comply with technical specifications, inspection standards, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess heavy hands-on inspection experience combined with Level 2 expertise in non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, and have some familiarity with ISO/IEC 17020 standards.

Please note that this position is FULLY REMOTE - candidates are welcome to apply from anywhere in China as long as they are a citizen.

 Strong professional working fluency in English, and fluency in Mandarin is REQUIRED.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections on industrial products, components, or assemblies in accordance with applicable standards and procedures.

  • Conduct inspection activities using approved NDT methods such as radiographic testing (RT), ultrasonic testing (UT), infrared testing (IR), leak testing (LT), or acoustic emission testing (AE).

  • Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, inspection procedures, and quality documentation prior to inspection activities.

  • Prepare inspection reports, test records, non-conformance reports, and supporting technical documentation.

  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to inspection findings or quality issues.

  • Ensure inspection and testing activities comply with relevant quality standards, technical codes, and customer requirements.

  • Support audits, certification reviews, and quality assessments conducted by internal teams or external certification bodies.

  • Coordinate with manufacturing and quality teams to resolve inspection-related issues and improve product quality.

  • Assist with product certification and conformity assessment activities where applicable.

  • Maintain inspection equipment, calibration records, and testing documentation in accordance with company and industry standards.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to quality assurance, inspection processes, and compliance management.


REQUIREMENTS:


  • Bare minimum 3 years of inspection experience is required.
    Strong preference for candidates that already have experience working for third-party bodies, or for electronics/mechanical manufacturing companies.
  • NDT Level 2 certification required in one of the following methods: RT, UT, IR, LT, AE.
  • Candidates who are NOT yet Level 2 certified can still qualify, but must meet the eligibility requirements to enroll in Level 2 NDT certification courses.

  • Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17020 standards.
  • Product certification or conformity assessment experience related to CE and/or TRCU certification is a major advantage.

  • Strong understanding of inspection procedures, quality standards, and non-destructive testing methodologies.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and inspection documentation.

  • Experience preparing inspection reports and technical quality documentation.

  • Willingness to travel to customer sites, supplier facilities, or inspection locations when required.
  • Strong professional working fluency in English, and fluency in Mandarin is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in technical fields such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or electronics is preferred.
