Job Description

About the Role

As an NDT Operator, you will play a key role in ensuring systems and structural components perform their function effectively while maintaining the balance between quality control and cost-effectiveness. You will be responsible for the correct implementation of project quality plans within our manufacturing facility, monitoring the daily pipeline of NDT activities, and ensuring all testing is completed accurately and on schedule.

Working closely with the Senior NDT Operator, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, promote a strong safety and quality culture, and support the delivery of accurate and timely inspection reports in accordance with project specifications. Your PCN Level 2 Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and PCN Level 2 Dye Penetrant Testing (PT) certifications will provide the foundation for the inspection and testing of NOV products at our Celle facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and evaluate test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and procedures.
  • Interpret the results of multiple non-destructive testing methods and determine compliance with project requirements.
  • Make recommendations for corrective actions and continuously identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Select, calibrate, and operate equipment used in the non-destructive testing of products and materials.
  • Examine forgings and machined products using approved NDT techniques.
  • Prepare accurate and timely NDT reports in accordance with project specifications.
  • Conduct liquid penetrant testing to identify surface defects using fluorescent dye inspection methods.
  • Perform magnetic particle inspections on machined products to detect surface discontinuities and cracks.
  • Document NDT methods, procedures, processes, and test results.
  • Support the evaluation and implementation of new NDT technologies and methods.
  • Collaborate with the Senior NDT Operator to address quality concerns, testing deficiencies, and safety improvements.
  • Support other departments and undertake additional duties as reasonably requested by management.
  • Travel when required to support operational and business requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

  • PCN Level 2 Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) certification.
  • PCN Level 2 Dye Penetrant Testing (PT) certification.
  • Experience performing non-destructive testing within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of applicable NDT codes, standards, specifications, and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret inspection results and prepare detailed technical reports.
  • Experience operating and calibrating NDT equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to identify non-conformances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Good computer literacy and report-writing skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required by business needs.
