Job Description

Kalano Community Association are seeking suitably qualified and experienced people for casual vacancies in the NDIS Team.

Brief Summary of role:

Our NDIS Support Workers are responsible for culturally appropriate ongoing support and safety of clients within Kalano’s Disability Services. As part of their role, Support Workers are responsible for effective and professional communication with vulnerable clients and also with the clients Support Coordinator.

NDIS Support Workers may be required to work regular hours across a 24-hour period (evening and day).

Salary & Conditions

Employment Type: Casual

Salary Range: $26.6938- $35.0980 per hour (Plus Casual loading & other applicable allowances)

Hours of work: Shifts available across a 24hr / 7day operation

Location: Kalano’s NDIS SIL House - Katherine

Selection Criteria

• Experience working with Indigenous people

• Competent computer literacy skills (experience taking case notes is considered highly valuable)

• Understanding of the barriers and challenges that Indigenous people face in the NT

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, staff and stakeholders

• Sound knowledge of work, health and safety principles and practices

• Current NT drivers licence, valid Ochre Card, Current NDIS Screening and willingness to undertake a National Police check.

• Fully COVID-19 Vaccinated
