Department Overview:
The Network for Development & Growth of Native Solidarity at UW-Madison offers all undergraduate students an opportunity to learn about Indigenous voices and experiences, with a focus on building community and relationships. The community provides support to help students thrive, and a variety of academic, community, and cultural events throughout the year. We offer students a framework to participate in many high-impact programs across campus. Our scholars can graduate with a breadth of valuable experiences preparing them for careers in all fields, with a particular emphasis on developing skills and knowledge to work in high-demand professions within Tribal communities.
The NDGNS UW program has three core components:
The NDGNS Community in University Housing – highly recommended for first-year students!
The NATIVE Fellowship – a foundational part of our programming, for second-year students and above.
Other high-impact programming across campus – we promote ongoing academic, professional, and personal development!

Qualifications:
1. Must be currently enrolled in a Masters' or Ph.D. program at UW-Madison.
2. Previous experience working with undergraduates, especially students from diverse backgrounds.
3. Certificate in American Indian and Indigenous Studies or equivalent experience.

2. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy.
3. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on a team, as well as individually.
4. Ability to work with diverse populations with an array of backgrounds and needs.
5. Dedication to providing excellent service to scholars.
6. Strong written and oral communication skills.
Job Duties:
1. Maintain calendar of approved events for NDGNS UW scholars, particularly NATIVE Fellows
2. Maintain NDGNS UW internal program Canvas where scholars access tasks, assignments, and deadlines
3. Assist in assessment of program needs and development of operational policies
4. Monitor, review, and grade NDGNS UW student participation and written reflections on a bi-weekly basis
5.Contact students who are not meeting program participation expectations, approve stipend payments through Workday for those who are meeting participation requirements.
6. Recruit mentors as needed and coordinate mentorship meals for NDGNS UW students
7. Work with NDGNS UW team to support programming needs throughout the academic year
8. In the summer, provide administrative support for NDGNS UW at SOAR
