Job Description

Join our team to be part of JPMorganChase’s approach to nature and social risk management, strengthening resilience and supporting responsible growth across our lines of business. JPMorganChase’s Nature and Social (N&S) Risk team sits within our broader Risk Management and Compliance framework and plays a critical role in identifying, assessing, and managing nature and social-related risks across the firm.

As a Vice President in the Nature and Social (N&S) Risk team, you will provide subject-matter leadership and drive high-impact risk outcomes through strong partnership with the first line of defense and key control functions across multiple lines of business. You will help shape our approach to evolving expectations—regulatory, stakeholder, and client—across industries and geographies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and credible challenge to the first line of defence on N&S risk matters, influencing risk decisions and client engagement approaches.
  • Lead independently enhanced N&S risk due diligence for clients and transactions, including scoping, analysis, documentation, and recommendations on mitigants/conditions.
  • Drive firmwide training and enablement on N&S risk topics (content development, case studies, guidance), improving consistency of application across lines of business.
  • Coordinate and advise cross-functionally with Front Office, Legal, Audit, Compliance, Communications, and other stakeholders to align on risk positions and messaging.
  • Monitor and interpret global N&S-related regulations and standards; advise on impacts, implementation considerations, and readiness across lines of business.
  • Support preparation of external disclosures and internal governance materials related to N&S risk, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment to firm frameworks.
  • Lead internal initiatives on N&S risk documentation, thematic reviews, and emerging topics; identify process improvements and strengthen governance.
  • Contribute to ongoing enhancements of N&S risk management policies, standards, procedures, and controls, including lessons learned and best practices.
  • Lead strategic research and horizon scanning on nature and social issues impacting clients and sectors (e.g., human rights, biodiversity, supply chain and labor issues), translating insights into actionable risk guidance for multiple lines of business.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in risk management, compliance, E&S/ESG risk, human rights, nature/biodiversity risk, or related due diligence/controls disciplines.
  • Strong independent judgment, ability to structure ambiguous problems, and comfort making clear, defensible recommendations.
  • Proven ability to influence and partner effectively across multiple lines of business and control functions.
  • Excellent research, writing, and presentation skills; ability to translate technical topics into practical guidance.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to drive multiple priorities in a global, fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with nature-related and social risk standards and regulatory developments (e.g., biodiversity, supply chain/labor, human rights due diligence) and common due diligence practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting disclosures, governance forums, and/or policy/standards development.
