LocalEyes is looking for a Translator with the right mix of technical, creative translation and communication skills to provide creative natural language translations into
Norwegian
.

The translator needs to be experienced in creative translation and must demonstrate an excellent grasp of
Norwegian
​
linguistics while being thoroughly up-to-date with everyday
Norwegian
spoken language, including slang and other regional colloquialisms.

While, the role has both a creative and technical focus, the bulk of the work involves the manipulation of code and variables within code in accordance with grammar requirements for the language in question. This role would therefore suit an individual who has experience working in an XML or similar environment and has a high comfort level translating content containing embedded variables in a markup language type environment.
The responsibilities of the successful candidates will include
:

• 
  Creative
  Linguistic adaptation (Translation/review) of virtual personal assistant dialogs from U.S. English to the relevant language.
• 
  Adaptation of personality-flavoured dialogs on both a linguistic and XML based code level to ensure target language is culturally relevant and creative.
• 
  Investigation and resolution of linguistic bugs as identified by client based QA team.
• 
  Communicating and close collaboration with client based Engineers, Project Managers and other linguists to ensure content is translated in accordance with clients quality requirements.

Requirements

Native speaker of
Norwegian
.

▪
Proven experience in creative translation from English into
Norwegian
.

▪
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting/problem solving and communication skills.

▪
Excellent vocabulary and command of spoken and written English

▪
Working knowledge of XML or other MarkUp languages is a plus.

▪
Experience translating content containing embedded variables in an XML environment with a high comfort level in manipulating XML type tags during translation.

Demonstrated aptitude to independently learn new technologies - all translation is performed using our client proprietary localisation tool set.

Self-motivated and pro-active with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities

Flexibility to respond and react to changing priorities quickly and efficiently

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Translation / Audio-visual Translation or relevant work experience.
