The Key Purpose of this role is to act as a project manager that brings together all sales channels. Projects will vary but will always be centred around optimising the business and monetising opportunities. This will be coupled with taking the national strategy and synthesising it into channels. In addition, the role is responsible for leading specialist capabilities including TavNet, Outlet Health, Draught Supply Stakeholder Management and national refrigeration asset management, whilst managing a team of 4 direct reports, multiple suppliers and external stakeholders.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Strategy, PMO & Business Performance:

  • Contribute to the development of the National Trade Marketing department and strengthen synergies between Sales and Marketing.
  • Drive business strategy through projects and initiatives, taking ownership from concept through launch.
  • Develop robust business cases for key ideas, supported by sound financial and commercial analysis.
  • Establish cross-functional task teams to solve business problems and deliver agreed outcomes.
  • Conduct competitor analysis, including market share, gap draught and SI data, and translate insights into improvement projects.
  • Track and report key initiatives against strategic objectives and monitor STI targets for the National Trade Marketing team.
  • Work with channel managers to build a project pipeline that delivers measurable value to the business.
  • Manage agendas for CLT meetings to ensure that business priorities are addressed.
  • Provide regular updates to the local BU leadership team, Zone Mancom and Global stakeholders.
  • Build understanding and acceptance of the Trade Marketing agenda across the wider business.

People Leadership:

  • Lead, coach and develop 4 direct reports, ensuring clear objectives, effective workload allocation, capability development, performance management and succession planning.
  • Build a high-performing team culture focused on accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and delivery excellence.
  • Ensure specialist capabilities remain aligned to national commercial priorities and strategic objectives.

Stakeholder, Supplier & External Partner Management:

  • Manage and influence multiple internal stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply, Procurement, Logistics, Technology, Zone and Global teams.
  • Manage relationships with multiple suppliers, agencies, service providers and external stakeholders to ensure delivery against agreed commercial, operational and strategic objectives.
  • Act as the central point of alignment between internal teams and external stakeholders to co-ordinate scope, decisions, roles, dependencies and execution plans.
  • Drive supplier governance, service-level performance, issue resolution and value creation across key partnerships

TavNet Custodian:

  • Act as the custodian of TavNet, the multimedia network operating within Taverns.
  • Develop and execute the TavNet strategy to maximise outlet reach, customer engagement, media effectiveness and commercial return.
  • Manage the suppliers, external partners and service providers supporting the TavNet platform.
  • Monitor TavNet performance and continuously optimise network effectiveness and return on investment. Outlet Health: On-Premises
  • Own the Outlet Health programme across the On-Premises channel, covering both Taverns and Formal On-Premises (FOP).
  • Develop performance scorecards, standards and improvement plans to strengthen outlet quality, execution excellence and commercial performance.
  • Use outlet health insights to identify opportunities and inform channel investment priorities.
  • Co-ordinate internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver outlet improvement initiatives.

Refrigeration Asset Management: On-Trade & Off-Trade:

  • Own the national strategy, governance and optimisation of fridge assets across both the On-Trade and Off-Trade channels.
  • Oversee fridge deployment, utilisation, compliance, maintenance and return on investment across the national asset base.
  • Partner with Commercial, Sales, Supply and Operations teams to allocate fridge assets in a way that maximises commercial value, customer service and execution excellence.
  • Manage suppliers and external service providers responsible for fridge deployment, maintenance and support.
  • Develop asset performance reporting and governance processes to improve utilisation and guide investment prioritisation.

Draught Supply Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as the key commercial stakeholder for draught supply planning and execution.
  • Manage draught volume forecasts and ensure alignment between commercial demand plans and supply capability.
  • Co-ordinate between Sales and Supply teams to support appropriate draught product availability across the market.
  • Monitor production targets against actual production, identify variances and escalate supply risks or corrective actions where required.
  • Provide regular draught supply performance updates and insights to relevant stakeholders and leadership teams.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Relevant Commerce or Engineering degree.
  • At least 5 years of Sales or Trade Marketing experience.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Proven people leadership experience, including the management and development of direct reports.
  • Experience managing suppliers, agencies, service providers or external partners against commercial and operational objectives.
  • Experience working across complex matrix organisations and multiple stakeholder groups.

Leadership & Functional Capabilities:

  • Natural cross-functional leader who acts in the interest of the overall business and gets the best from both direct and non-direct reports.
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing, collaboration and negotiation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, project management and co-ordination skills.
  • Ability to translate strategy into practical channel plans and disciplined execution.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning, operational delivery, supplier management and people leadership.
  • Ability to work across functions in a matrix style of management without compromising key outcomes.
  • A self-starter with strong self-management, a bias for action and a high degree of attention to detail.
