The Opportunity

As the National Stakeholder & Community Relationship Manager, you will serve as the central coordination point for all regulatory, government, and community engagement across our sites along Australia’s eastern seaboard. In this role, you will shape and lead our national engagement strategy, ensure consistent and transparent communication, and act as a trusted spokesperson for the organisation both internally and externally.

This position offers substantial autonomy, national visibility, and the opportunity to influence major projects with enduring environmental and community outcomes

What you’ll Do

• Develop and execute national stakeholder management strategies across major projects and operational activities.
• Design and govern community engagement plans and communication frameworks to support organisational objectives.
• Contribute to regulatory and government interface management, ensuring alignment, coordination, and proactive engagement.
• Contribute to environmental reporting, post‑closure and aftercare compliance, and provide support for planning approval processes.
• Develop communication plans with government agencies, regulators, and key external stakeholders.
• Coordinate site‑level engagement to ensure a consistent, strategic, and nationally aligned approach.
• Oversee consistent community responses, complaint management processes, and long‑term relationship development.

Based in either Melbourne or Sydney, this hybrid role involves working both on-site and in the office.

About You

You are a strategic and influential stakeholder engagement professional who excels in highly regulated environments. You build strong, trusted relationships with regulators, government bodies, and community stakeholders. To succeed in this role, you will have.

• Demonstrated experience operating within complex and/or highly regulated environments.
• Proven capability in stakeholder engagement, government relations, and the development of strategic community partnerships.
• Ideally, a background in environment, sustainability, planning, or regulatory affairs.
• High level of diplomacy, influence, and communication capability, with the ability to engage effectively across technical, non-technical, and operational stakeholder groups.
• Experience presenting to executive leadership and collaborating across multifaceted organisational structures.
• Flexibility to travel to operational sites across the eastern states within a balanced hybrid working model.
• Preferably an exposure to landfill or environmental operations.
